Well that was then, this is now. That was so last year or whatever. /sarc
They obviously needed to divert attention from the VA scandal, among others. Never trust this administration.
They might have mentioned it to Hairy Reid and Pelosie in passing at one of their drunkin soirees. That is good enough for them.
Active Duty ping.
Too bad a bad a&& navy seal doesn’t go after the SOB black messiah!! And rid us of this freakin nightmare!! Saw the movie Captain Phillips and I was blown away by the navy seals accuracy taking out those Somalian pirates!! Freakin bad a&&es!! SOS!!
That was before they needed to get the VA scandal off the front page.
Carney is a POS.
It was claimed by the WH and Hael that Bergdahl was a prisoner of war, but officially he was never declared a POW. But then again, how could they be? The Taliban is not a nation-state. They are a club of some sort,..i.e. terrorists.
I seem to remember the WH considering GTMO residents criminals that needed to be tried in the U.S. But that failed.
If so, is it a practice of the U.S. to allow murderous criminals to be exchanged for someone with possible treasonous actions?
But most of the time when I see these actions by the WH, and then the subsequents rants of the right about how indignant they are...i am tempted to say to them...So what?
Why? Because nothing is ever done. Obama is breaking laws with impunity. All the elected Republicans want is to be relected. They express indignation in townhall meetings, regurgitate over and over about how bad Obama is, and do nothing about it. They feel if they repeat what people already know,..they get elected. But they people that elect them actually expect them to do something about it,..but the person doesn’t, over and over and over. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are no different. Where are their impeaching action against Obama???
This should be a litmus test for anyone running for a Republican Congressional office.... “Do you think Obama has committed impeachable actions against this country?” If they answer yes...the follow up is “If you are elected, will you immediately file for an impeachable process against him?” If they equivocate and give an ambiguous answer, (...gotta wait on investigation...) then that is not the candidate to vote for.
Then I see additional rants on here,...in my head I say “So what? What are you doing about it? Are you supporting candidates that just want your money?” So the posters here give the same old stupid.. Obama did this, Obama has done that...” yada yada yada. White noise.
There. I’m done.
Somebody please ask Carney Barker: “What does the administration think of the Taliban celebrating the prisoner swap as a “great victory”?
“concerns over the health and perhaps even the survival of Bergdahl required secrecy”
This sounds just like the excuse to release the Lockerbie bomber. They said, he is dying of cancer and only has a few months to live!
This turned out to be a lie.
America’s Last Prisoner of War http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3162894/posts
Buried in this article from 2012:
[emphasis mine] “The Hill is giving State and the White House shit,” says one senior administration source. “The political consequences are being used as leverage in the policy debate.” According to White House sources, Marc Grossman, who replaced Richard Holbrooke as special envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan, was given a direct warning by the president’s opponents in Congress about TRADING BOWE FOR FIVE TALIBAN PRISONERS during an election year. “They keep telling me it’s going to be Obama’s Willie Horton moment,” Grossman warned the White House. The threat was as ugly as it was clear: THE PRESIDENT’S POLITICAL ENEMIES WERE PREPARED TO USE THE RELEASE OF VIOLENT PRISONERS TO PAINT OBAMA AS A DUKAKIS-LIKE APPEASER, just as Republicans did to the former Massachusetts governor during the 1988 campaign. In response, a White House official advised Grossman that he should ignore the politics of the swap and concentrate solely on the policy.
“FRANKLY, WE DON’T GIVE A SHIT WHY HE LEFT,” SAYS ONE WHITE HOUSE OFFICIAL. “He’s an American soldier. We want to bring him home.” http://www.rollingstone.com/.../americas-last-prisoner-of.
Dude, that was like 12 months ago...
