John Kerry Was Just Resting His Eyes (Fell Asleep at Press Conference in Poland)
New York Magazine ^

Posted on 06/03/2014 3:37:44 PM PDT by nickcarraway

Today, at a joint press conference between Barack Obama and Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski in Warsaw, Secretary of State John Kerry pulled the old "dad on the couch" move, testing the limits between what he called "a really long blink" and what looked more like a very short nap. The tell is always in the jerk back to wake up.

Twitter:

Brian Rie$ ✔ @moneyries Secretary of State @JohnKerry taking a power nap in Warsaw (in his defense...long flight!) http://twitpic.com/e5dtql

John Kerry ✔ @JohnKerry Follow .@moneyries just a really long blink!

The other dead giveaway is protesting too much.

The more Kerry sleeps through his job, the better.

He was?!? Why doesn’t he ever mention it?

John Kerry walks into a bar. The bartender asks “why the long face?”

Kerry was searing the moment in his brain.

If no one is trashing Israel, then he’s probably asleep.

I'll bet he was dreaming of his death-defying feats of combat back there in . . . where was it? . . . Viet Nam?

Exactly, and who can blame John for being sleepy anyway.

He must have stayed up until half passed three in the morning just admiring himself in the bathroom mirror of the Four Star Hotel he was staying in to get prepared for full days agenda of admiring and envious glances from the other delegates and their staffs

I used to fall asleep rest my eyes while listening to some of Kerry's campaign speeches in 2004. Kerry was one of the most boring speakers to ever get access to microphones.

This confirms the rumor that he may be the nominee to replace Ginsberg.

Kerry “jerked back” to wake up? Sure it wasn’t “jerked off” to wake up?

Remember, he was in Cambodia. So was I, but the difference is that I wasn’t a traitor.

I support him on this. I think we all should fall asleep during Obama press conferences.

If I am in the hearing of those who have important things to say over a stretch of time, I close my eyes because it helps me to concentrate better. This kind of sniping lacks substance, as much as I’d like to see Kerry disabused of public office.

Even though his eyes were closed for most of the press conference, the event is still seared, seared into his memory.
