Bergdahl says he was tortured by Taliban captors

U.S. Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has told people treating him at an American military medical facility in Germany that he was tortured, beaten and held in a cage by his Taliban captors in Afghanistan after he tried to escape, a senior U.S. official said Sunday.

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss what Bergdahl has revealed about the conditions of his captivity. The New York Times first reported on the matter.

The official said it was difficult to verify the accounts Bergdahl has given since his release a week ago.

Military doctors at the Landstuhl Regional Medical Center say that while Bergdahl is physically able to travel he's not yet emotionally prepared to be reunited with his family. He has not yet spoken to his family.

Easy way to find out truth.
Did the medical staff in Germany take MRI’s and X-ray’s?
If he was physically torture there would be some remaining evidence.

The guy filling in for Mark Levin said that the left is going to make Bergdahl into a leftist patron saint. Looks like it’s happening.

"He was tortured?

How?"

They wouldn't let him practice his ballet positions.

He could have avoided all that mistreatment by not deserting his post. If he hadn't sought to join the Taliban of his accord, they would have had no opportunity to mistreat him. He wouldn't even have needed to try to escape.

He deserted. He actively sought out the Taliban. He found them.

End of story.

They will double down like they always do, the press will fall in line and he will be called a hero. No doubt show up being pointed to during the next state of the union show.

Show us the xrays... let us count the broken bones and decide for ourselves if it was torture or not. Let’s see photo of all the scars and burns... surely torture would leave something that can be seen.

Looking at his parents and his life he seems to be the last guy who would up and join the armed services.

I can’t figure this one out.

Here’s what was in the Rolling Stone article as to why he joined the Army. He was “enticed” don’t ya know. He was going to Afghanistan to help “rebuild villages” and teach them to “defend themselves”. Uh-huh.

From article: But what Bowe found in the Army, according to his parents, was a “deception” – one that started from the moment he was recruited. Bowe had been enticed to join the Army, they say, with the promise that he would be going overseas to help Afghan villagers rebuild their lives and learn to defend themselves – “the whole COIN thing,” says Bob, citing the shorthand for America’s strategy of counterinsurgency. “We were given a fictitious picture, an artificially created picture of what we were doing in Afghanistan.”

The French Foreign Legion were smarter than the US Army. They said no way. That’s what the Army should have said.

Ah, poor baby, Bowe Bergdahl, unable ever to exercise free will.

Forever in the shadow of his great and magnificent father Robert, the Wizard of Id, who managed to totally brainwash his son from an early age.

Free will is much overrated. So few people actually exercise it.

I have no idea what the facts are and neither does ANYONE here. Why on Earth people pick or choose a side is beyond me. The worst of our suspicions may be true, but we do NOT know. But hey, throwing it all at the wall and seeing what sticks has worked out for us so far. (Yeah. Sarcasm)

Mark my words, this is going to backfire BIG time on the GOP and Conservatives for not taking a wait and see attitude. BIG time.

LOL

I saw that last night and it must have been terribly frustrating not to practice his Plie´’s, Grand Allegros and his particular form of “Reverance” display for his captors after his performance....

I think they used him as a living blow up doll but, that’ll never come out...

(can I say that? Unintentional...)
