Dave Brat: Meet The Candidate Who Beat Eric Cantor

Sounds like a decent candidate and representative.

“The establishment got its long overdue wakeup call”

Understand folks...
This is even a bigger deal than you think, for a couple of different reasons.

- His district was gerrymandered even deeper red, to assure his reelections.

- The entire DC R establishment has been buying into his good graces, for the day when he was to take over the gavel.

- Without Cantor and his group’s support, Boehner will likely lose the speakership.

Here’s what I don’t understand: I’m thrilled that the amnesty pushing illegal loving RINO Cantor has lost. HOWEVER, in South Carolina, an even BIGGER amnesty pusher and Obama butt buddy Miss Lindsay Gayham has won re-election with over a majority of the vote. I don’t understand. Yes, Graham outspent his opponents massively, but so did Cantor. Not to offend any South Carolinian Freepers but...are Virginians simply smarter?

Brat is a college professor who served as an economic adviser to RAT governor Tim Kaine and promotes much more Ayn Rand sytle libertarianism than either traditional or social conservatism. I suspect he might be a closet Paulbot.

Hopefully my fears are misplaced and he turns out to be a solid mainstream and reliable conservative, but I have my doubts so I’m taking a wait and see approach.

FOX news says it’s good for Democrats because Hispanics will hatehatehate those wascally wascally wepublicans.

Amnesty is good for Democrats because (insert favorite reason here, long list to choose from).

Also didnt happen in SC, where McCain girlfriend and Uber RINO amnesty loving Linda Graham defeated a half dozen conservative candidates for reelection.

South Carolina was a state wide vote (senator) compared to Cantor’s seat which had a whopping 65,000 total votes for the Representative seat. Also, Cantor only had one challenger - Brat; Graham had six.

I haven’t heard Graham push the amnesty/illegal stuff lately; I think Cantor has been talking about the Dream Act.

Those are some reasons I see. It’s a shame there wasn’t one challenger to Graham.....he might have been able to gain some traction with the right support.

So Graham was smart enough to back off his support of amnesty just in time for the primary whereas Cantor wasn’t? I suppose that makes sense, but I wish voters had longer memories! McCain went right back to his RINO antics after winning his primary despite talking like a solid conservative during it, I expect the same from Linda.

Well, he has a Masters of Divinity from Princeton Seminary...so I'd say he's fairly socially conservative. ( Wild guess, of course.)

The guy having a religious background and promoting Ayn Rand’s objectionism is a contradiction to me. It would be like an IRS official promoting the Fair Tax.

Here’s a random oddity. I just noted Brat and Cantor look alike enough where they could be fraternal twins, or at least Brat could be Cantor’s stunt double in movies. (Of course, just because they look alike doesn’t mean they will vote that way) From a distance, I wouldn’t even know they changed Congressmen:
