Yes, quite a whitewash, going to all the trouble of holding her funeral at the Co-Cathedral of St. Teresa where she had sung in the church choir for many years.
Do you really think that issuing a birth certificate to Obama four years after her predecessor had already issued a birth certificate to him is evidence of some grand plot?

As former health director Dr. Fukino said in the following interview “conspiracy theorists are alive and well.”

I agree and that’s been true since [natural born citizen] Benedict Arnold and the rest of the American colonist “Tories” who opposed the Patriots.

Older thread, but in case no one answered you - there is one caveat to citizenship in the case of an American parent living abroad.

The parent must be an American citizen who has spent at least 5 years in the USA after the age of 14. Why 14? Not a clue.

Cruz’ mother had done so - she were both American and lived in the USA until she was in her late 20’s. Her citizenship is heritable. Obama’s mother gave birth when she was 18. One year too soon, if he were, in fact, born anywhere other than US soil (on that aspect I make no comment as it is boring and the ship has most definitely sailed).

Regards.

Thanks, Yeah, I didn’t know the particulars of her status. I have studied the Nationality Act of 1952 and know it all to well. I just believe that the Founders intent was 2 American parents on American soil but we’ve been there before. Too bad that they weren’t more specific.

No worries.

I respect the founders immensely. These highly educated and well read men distilled every political system that had been tried down to a few simple rules that have worked for quite a while.

They couldn’t foresee the speed and ease of movement and communication we have now. If they had known that someone in orbit and half way around the world from you could talk to you face to face in real time, do you think they’d have allowed for Executive Action in the first place? If the Constitution and Bill of Rights were being written today, the idea that anyone could possibly be out of communication would be met with howls of laughter.

They predicted well. Wrote as clearly as they could. Just - they couldn’t foresee everything. And the pigmies standing on their shoulders right now have not a hundredth of their knowledge, understanding or passion.

Yep, just like they couldn’t have seen the invention of airplanes or nuclear weapons which I fundamently think are arms that we have a right to. Back then the citizens and the military were pretty evenly matched. Being armed wasn’t about personal protection or hunting but a way of keeping an eye on a developing tyrannical government. But I’m sure I am preaching to the choir.

Well - not quite sure about nukes - I have neighbors who can’t really be trusted with matches! You can tell it’s the start of summer when the ambulance rolls up to their house after he tried to light the barbecue. :)

Otherwise, if you can use it, have room for it, and don’t accidentally kill anyone or cause property damage, why not have it? To me, the emphasis is on use it, though.

Most gun owners, in my experience, put in more range time (or practice time) in a month than most military units get in a year or police officers in a decade. To me, sensible. You have this tool, which is all a weapon is, and you practice with it until it’s as automatic as breathing.

There is only one gun control regulation I would like to see. CCW permit holders should have to take and pass the standard urban assault course. Carrying is a huge responsibility. God forbid they ever need to pull, but if they do, it’d be nice to know they know what they are doing.

I’d get behind that idea in a heartbeat. So far - we have been lucky when a CCW holder has shortened or stopped a shooting or home invasion. That run of luck can’t go on forever. Eventually you are going to get shooter meets someone with a gun who really doesn’t know what they are doing and it is going to get messy.

Again - preaching to the choir. Best to you!
