I don’t see having more kids die in vain as a remedy for those who already have. We could stay there 100 years and when we left it would revert to the same madness.
Craphole is right. Just like this country is becoming.
No more draft. The government does not own our sons and daughters.
It will be Iraq II
W’s conquering Baghdad was just a continuation of the original war against Saddam that was continuous for more than 10 years
The old Persian War will now become an Iraq Civil War, Iran is already sending support to their Shia brothers.
We should never have gone in. We should never have stayed. We should never go back.
Let the Iraqi’s man up and use the training we gave them, but help them from the air with drones, etc. The Brits offered the SOS for intelligence gathering, and it looked bad yesterday but today the Iraqi s are joining in a push back to ISIS.
Update...the Iraqi s are joining the fight today against ISIS...Britain offered SOS intelligence help for Iraqi Army on strategic planning and finding ways to defeat ISIS.
Let’s hope the Bush Military Training will pay off as the Generals are now taking action and have regained control of one of ISIS take overs.
Lovely idea. If looked at in isolation.
But what do you think the longterm and worldwide repercussions of America suffering such a dreadful and complete defeat in its longest war ever will be? Is it reasonable to expect this will tremendously embolden not only Islamists, but also every other nation and group that resents American domination?
The probable result of ISIS taking Baghdad is a massive slaughter of everybody who tried to work with America while we were there. Is national honor well-served by abandoning them to their fate, simply because we’re tired of dealing with Iraq and want to go home?
IOW, are the probable consequences of NOT going back in worse than those of returning?
I don’t know the answer to that question, and I don’t think anybody does, but it is just foolish to think that Iraq is the main or only issue at this point. America’s tottering credibility internationally is a much bigger issue.
