President Barack Obama on Saturday intervened to end a transit strike in the greater Philadelphia area, establishing an emergency board to force the two sides to negotiate.

The move, at the behest of Republican Governor Tom Corbett, came hours after about 440 engineers and electricians who operate trains that connect Philadelphia and its suburbs walked off the job.

“That’s it. The strike is over," said Arthur Davidson, spokesman for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, one of the two unions on strike.

What is Obama (ptui) doing meddling in a local issue, and what was the alleged "republican governor" doing asking for such petty micro-managing by said person?

Just a thought - pitting a left/commie group against their petty commie leader would be a win-win no matter what the outcome.

Well, he did have a busy fathers day weekend. Golfing, telling UC Irvine grads (sarcastically) that deniers are liars, golfing, worrying about something someplace far away. Maybe in state #55 or 56. More golf. Raising some money for lib/prog/socialist/commie contenders for the upcoming (s)elections. Maybe some more golf. The poor guy never gets a break. /s off.

The alleged republican governor has no balls. He should be using the unions as an example of wasting tax dollars on union enrichment. It pisses me off to no end that my tax dollars go to subsidize the commutes of lazy ass, liberal city folks and at the same time pay union goons exorbanant wages for jobs that a monkey could so. If the people in Philadelphia want their trains and buses, then let them pay full fare.

Railroad workers can be ordered back to work under Federal railroad law. Even without that, SEPTA serves commuters from New Jersey on at least two of its lines, so there’s no governing oversight from one state anyway.
