US evacuates Baghdad embassy as brutal ISIS forces advance ... [Breaking!]

The United States has evacuated most of its personnel from the Embassy in Baghdad and dramatically stepped up security for those who remain as thousands of Islamic fighters bear down on Iraq's capital city.

Some 5,500 people work in the massive Embassy complex in the heavily-fortified Green Zone in Baghdad. Many will be airlifted to Amman, Jordan, and others will be sent to consulates in Basra, in the south, and Erbil, in the Kurdish north.

Other workers will remain in Baghdad.

Some 12,000 fighters from the Islamic State of Iraq and Greater Syria (ISIS) are marching on Baghdad after quickly capturing Mosul, Iraq's second-largest city, last week.

The fighters, who are predominately Sunni Muslims - a large minority in Iraq, then turned south and began baring down on Baghdad, capturing towns along the way.

Actually that’s a total of 12000 ISIS in various places, not all in one place.

Been watching the radar tracker... been a couple of flights making it out of there. I see an Atlas Air plane (a 747) heading in now.

In addition to the embassy people, we have thousands of contractors who all have to get the heck out of there.

It’s all about the “optics.” The media can’t report this crisis just yet — Obama is still relaxing in Palm Springs. When he is good and ready to leave, they’ll breathlessly start their coverage with “President Obama cutting short his California vacation and returning to Washington on Air Force One amid unconfirmed reports of attacks in Iraq!” This will allow the low-information voter to get the full impact of Obama’s selflessness and sacrifice.

Mr. GG2 says the only 747’s Boeing ever delivered to Atlas were freighters so he thinks if they are sending one in they plan to probably pack as many people people as possible in there and then get the heck out. Cattle car.

Looks like that one didn’t land... changed course and is headed north now. It seemed to originate in the dessert SE of Baghdad... maybe it’s taking folks outa there.

He said the officers ordered them to surrender even when they had enough troops to take ISIS out.

The ISIS has been armed and financed by the US, NATO, and Saudi Arabia for the past three years to fight Uncle Scam's proxy war against Syria. This attack into Iraq is part of that proxy war. The Iraqi Army has been ordered to stand down by the same people that run the ISIS.

Whatever is going on we can be sure its bad. Every channel is running OJ, Bush 41 or some BS special. Not a word about the fact that Bagdad is under attack. We have been to very cable news channel.

I’m trying not to think that they waited too long and we have several thousand people trapped in the Green Zone with 100 Marines to protect them.

You’re probably correct, JennysCool. EVERYTHING this Administration does (or doesn’t do) is ORCHESTRATED to suit their political agenda.
