Parubiy: 20,000 Militants Operating In Donbas, Half Of Them Russians

KYIV, June 16/Ukrinform/. Around 15,000-20,000 armed militants are currently operating in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, and more than half of them arrived from Russia.

Ukrainian National Security and Defense Council Secretary Andriy Parubiy said this at a briefing at Ukrinform on Monday.

"According to our current data, between 15,000 and 20,000 militants are in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Nearly half of them are people who arrived in Ukraine from the Russian Federation," he said.

According to Parubiy, there are natives of the Caucasus and special units of the Russian Armed Forces are among the militants.

The Russkies are playing a game. The Ukrainians have made recent gains in taking back parts of the border and rooting out their nests. In response, the Russians are mobilizing at the border again.

They did this before when Ukraine was just starting their anti-terrorist operation, which, at that time, caused Ukraine to back off and left Russia to consolidate their position in the East.
