Quick, someone subpoena these people before they suffer a big disk crash and or a bad case of corporate amnesia.

Nice! I’m looking forward to the day when the likes of Lois Lerner, John Koskinen and all involved are jailed for their crimes.

I’m not much of computer tech, but I have been under the impression that with back up service company, anything I delete from my computer will also be deleted in my backup...am I wrong about that?

If the IRS or the associated company were some private corp Schmucks accused of even mid level crime wrong doing government agencies including the FBI would have raided them with a SWAT Team. They then would have escorted all persons from the business and taken all computers and records as evidence. The Oops or our computer crashed nonsense would have soon turned into well, well, we have recovered all of your data via forensics as evidence.

contrived and coordinated with years of planning ... then (probably) both sides will bring in paid experts to testify against each other in front of Congress; each expert giving conflicting testimony and the lame-stream will continue to play dumb. Thereby contrived and coordinated and the average person, like me, will say what the heck, how do we stop obama?

Looks like the obama crowds' new motto is ... 'Yes, We Did' ... and maybe Rush is absolutely correct ... obama is beating every American to a pulp and laughing and saying ... 'I dare ya to try and stop me America!' Congress is useless. Taking to the streets is probably useless. Shooting first is useless. Not many options available (imho) but am unwilling to surrender so will continue to try.

Anyone who does IT and is a bit older (ahem!) remembers how the old drives would have catastrophic head crashes, but even then there would be at least a few sectors retrievable. Those problems had pretty much disappeared by 2000, so unless Lerner took her hard drive on her off roading and bungee jumping trips, the idea that nothing was recoverable is a laugh.
That’s before we even get to the question of server backups, which must still be scattered throughout the system. Email isn’t that data intensive (unless you are downloading porn videos). Then you have six more crashes?

When Nixon had 18 minutes of tape erased, the media drummed him out of office. If the media is not one-sided, they will do the same thing with Obama. Otherwise, they are in the democrat’s pocket.

Dave Camp sent an inquiry to Lerner asking about tax exempts on 3 June 2011, her computer was killed by her on 13 June 2011. When she got the letter she knew the jig was up and took a few days to find a way to wipe out the hard drive. The other 6 also crashed the time line here will be very interesting but for sure Lois destroyed evidence.

Send the Congressional Police (heavily armed) to raid the IRS offices and Sonasoft right away.

Make sure they shoot a few dogs as well.

Nixon lost 18.5 minutes of tape and Republicans forced him to resign.

Obama loses over 6 months of emails from those under investigation and the liberals assist with the stonewalling.

Remember that this November when you go to vote.

Normally tapes are written over every six months- year, but first they are sent offsite for copy to virtual library. The idea that they simply write over takes every 6 months without first archiving is hard to believe, especially given id the IRS, not joes landscaping. After vendor archives data onto their redundant system. They are sent back to company and go back into production and are recycled every six months or so. This allows admins do restore user data on site if within six months. If beyond six months they procure from offsite location if approved (depending on critical nature of data). If they subpoena the vendor there is no way to completely delete the evidence, including logs, tracking, forsenics of drive and storage systems traffic, purchase orders, employee names, etc.

In our company they tell us emails are forever. I compare this to the discovery of the secret tape machine in Nixon’s White House basement.

The Congress needs to kick it up a notch. They need to pursue this destruction of evidence. I can barely contain myself when I think of it. They dilly dallied for a year or more, while proof of wrongdoing was apparently destroyed. This must be fought, no matter the consequences.

The IRS would have to have some transaction with the big electronic storage companies. Here are the transactions between the Dept. of Treasury and IBM for 2000 to 2012:

http://www.fedspending.org/fpds/fpds.php?&combDuns=001368083&maj_agency_cat=20&record_num=f500&detail=2&datype=T&reptype=r&database=fpds&sortp=d

Here it is for EMC:
http://www.fedspending.org/fpds/fpds.php?&combDuns=001368083&maj_agency_cat=20&record_num=f500&detail=2&datype=T&reptype=r&database=fpds&sortp=d

The IRS is the second largest purchaser in the Dept. of Treasury. The list is divided by years, so go down the page to see all the years. IBM and EMC and other storage companies can’t afford to be connected with lost data, if they are doing the storage for the IRS.

Here’s what they are claiming. Which is BS and violates records management policy.

6 month of email on the server was backed up.
Individuals had very small mailboxes on the server. Meaning they could only keep a few emails before not being able to send or receive new email.
Users moved email to a local .pst file on their PC. This moves it from the server to the PC.

After 6 months the only copy of the email is on the PC of the user. So when a hard drive crashed it was the personal PC hard drive that crashed. And no backup was kept.

Now they expect us to believe the hard drive on six key people crashed and had completely unusable data on them. This is complete BS.
