IRS Emails Backed Up by Outside Email Archiving Company
Freedom Outpost ^ | 6/21/14 | Tim Brown

On Friday, Mac Slavo reported on Congressman Darrell Issa's (R-CA) statement in which he called the Internal Revenue Service's claim that Lois Lerner's hard drive crash resulted in a loss of emails "ridiculous." Most of us know that information from crashed hard drives can be recovered, though it costs a lot of money. However, as Mac pointed out, we could simply obtain a copy from the National Security Agency since they are collecting this kind of information. But something more telling has come to light: The IRS uses as an email archiving company to back up its emails.

That's right, Sonasoft, whose slogan is "email archiving done right" touts the IRS as a customer.

In an incredible coincidence, as we will be told, the outside company’s copies of the emails were accidentally destroyed when their server crashed. Nothing to do about it, nothing to see here...

A woman who works for Sonasoft called in to the Mark Levin show last week. She first explained that her company contracted to archive IRS e-mails. She then said that the IRS never contacted them about having any problems. Which they would have done if they had ever had a data loss problem.

The only catch is the likelihood the Republicans don’t have the stones to do anything about it.

No, the risk would be to allow anyone at all from the government even near Sonasoft

Sonasoft is jumping up and down yelling “subpoena our records! We’ve got the e-mails” and the Republicans are thinking “hmmm, we need to look into corrupt peanut vendors in MLB next week.”

“Disaster Recovery Exchange solutions from Sonasoft
Sonasoft provides disaster recovery solutions for Microsoft Servers that lowers the Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).

Sonasoft’s disk-to-disk system allows data to be stored on the same server, DAS (Direct Attached Storage), NAS (Network Attached Storage), or IP SAN (IP Storage Area Network) using Sonasoft’s software as often as once per minute.

In the case of a hardware or software failure, Sonasoft’s products can recover the information to the same or to a new server at disk-transfer and LAN speeds. For companies that cannot tolerate any downtime, Sonasoft’s Point-Click Recovery has the ability to create a redundant, stand-by server, able to go online immediately.”

Ha! that’s what pisses me off & makes me think all these hearings are just dog & pony shows...not one congress critter asked the IRS slime guy if they have an offsite archive.

Before we get too excited, the contract looks like $13,000 which seems awfully low for backing up all of the IRS emails.

I’m sure someone from Sonasoft would be glad to testify. They have to be called to The Hill to do it though. Better yet, just bring the e-mails.

It might be time for Boehner to offer her limited transactional immunity for her testimony. If it is discovered that she lies in her testimony, the immunity disappears.

Everything in it’s time folks. Hearings aren’t conducted like an episode of CSI. The Watergate hearings went on for months and months and eventually we’ll get to the bottom of this.
