"Trey Gowdy OWNS Irs Commissioner John Koskinen at irs targeting hearing.

Trey Gowdy vs Irs Commissioner. IRS Commissioner John Koskinen testifies before the House Oversight and Government. Trey Gowdy relentlessly hammered IRS Commissioner John Koskinen on the missing IRS emails and on how Koskinen hasn't personally seen evidence of criminal wrongdoing at the IRS, which Gowdy found particularly outrageous because Koskinen hasn't read the relevant criminal statutes."

Gowdy lectured Koskinen on the "negative inference" drawn by the inability of the IRS to retrieve these emails, and said if a taxpayer is being prosecuted by the IRS a jury would look on them with more than a little suspicion.

He pressed Koskinen on how he knows there was no criminal wrongdoing. At one point, Koskinen exasperatedly said he's relying on "common sense," at which point Gowdy went off and lectured him, shouting, "You don't have any idea of criminal wrongdoing or not!"

When Koskinen dismissed the idea of a "conspiracy" Republicans have thought up, Gowdy shouted, "You're repeating a talking point by our colleagues on the other side!"

Did you notice the smirk on the commissioner’s face? It’s because he knows they are getting away clean and he’s done his job, once again. (His last clean up was at Fannie Mae)

...Trey will be President some day...

I don't see the demographics trending toward his point of view; but oh, he would make a fine president all right.

Like almost every single high-placed “Obama” tool, this idiot IRS commissioner is a Clinton c**ks**ker from way back.

That’s ALL I really need to know about such scum.

And by the way: TREY GOWDY FOR FRIKKIN’ PRESIDENT! Finally a real man with balls and brains and no fear; a true threat to Clinton/Obama.

When those dems and their media minions tear into Gowdy (which they MUST), I pray he withstands their blows. We need him.

Hi Graewolf —

Those of us that listened/watched the hearing from the beginning heard Rep. Issa call for a Special Counsel. He did this before the first question to the IRS Commissioner. He was not the only one tonight.

I personally don’t give a shit if he has “skeletons” in his closet. He is likely not an angel. But he is a MAN who can bitchslap these Clinton/Obama cretins that are in power now.

If he’s had a DUI, pulled a girls hair in 3rd grade, or talked back to his mother in high school, the dems will try to tear him apart, so EFF THEM. If they can’t find anything, they’ll make it up.

He should just stand up and say “Yeah I pulled her ponytail, so what? Kiss my ass, we’re taking you OUT!”

I’d follow the guy, anytime. I worry about our own, to be honest. The self-righteous single-issue pubbies who will also make it very hard to get Gowdy elected, deflecting enough voters away from our side to stick that evil witch Hillary back into power with her mate. It worked for BJ in two elections (Ross Perot), and they’ll use it again, count on it.

I hope our side doesn’t do that, I really do.

In fact, Issa was one of six co-sponsors of a resolution calling for the appointment of a Special Counsel in the IRS matter. http://dailycaller.com/2014/05/02/house-gop-obama-holder-undermining-irs-investigation-special-counsel-needed/?utm_referrer=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.google.com%2F

Perhaps a bit more latitude should be given to Issa? He has done all he is permitted to do under the law.

And the idiots behind him. They all seem to think the e-mail missing from at least 6 associated employees is a laughing matter.

“The boy gotta go.”

Probably easier for the obama gang to “lose” one guy than all of those emails and “hard drives”.

Where’s the special prosecutor?

Congress has dicked around with this story far too long already.

Trey Gowdy is my hero.

The way the Dims are all complimenting the IRS guy for being such an outstandingly honest guy reminds me of the treatment Webster Hubble got from the Dims and the media before he was indicted and convicted. They did the same thing for Hubbell while he was testifying before Congress WRT the Whitewater hearings.

As feared, yet another farce by the GoP leardership.

Applause came from many for reasons I do not understand. Why?

Issa has been a known quantity (viz., paper tiger) for ages now.

Gowdy revealed more of the same, just a different colour. My suspicion here was correct, just another boob from the upstart.

There is a jail in the bowels of the Capital building.

Posit:

An order to the Sergeant-at-Arms of the House to arrest and place an offender in said jail cannot be stopped by the DoJ.

The charge - CONTUMACY - WILLFUL CONTEMPT of Congress.

In far too many past instances the "clock has been run out", allowed to happened by no or inept ACTIONS, leading to no RESULTS.

That same old, same old is now and will continue unfolding. Recall Booby-Hatch with Janet Reno, for example?

WORDS are not ACTIONS and ACTIONS without RESULTS are NOTHING.

You never get the time/opportunity back. And in the case of the GoP, they just look stupid.

They should have got this to a special counsel/prosecutor long before now. Instead they grandstand on TV.
