Perhaps it was an error.

It was not an error, this happens too often, as it did when "W" was in office.

I personally witnessed a Mexican Huey complete with door gunner flying over U.S territory, where the Colorado River is the Border, there is no way to miss that from the air, or the ground. Fortunately there was no gunfire that time.

A few months later in broad daylight, a squad of Mexican Military was caught on the U.S. side of the Colorado River, when buzzed by a Border Patrol Helicopter, they laid their guns down, and put their hands in the air. Again the excuse was that they didn't know they were in the U.S. after crossing the Colorado River.

I can show you where the border is, where they crossed in the middle of the darkest night without a flashlight.

“Just as sometimes a pitcher hits a batter by error”

And sometimes someone crosses the border by accident and is put in the slammer for NO GOOD REASON.

Thanks for the clarification.
IIRC, I pinged the list for all of those articles when they were posted on FR...and added the primary keyword, as well.

“IIRC, they have shot across the border before, but not crossed over by air. Am I wrong on this?”

My SILs Step-father used to work the border between Tucson and East a few miles and he and his crew were shot at regularly but not allowed to return fire. To his knowledge, no USA personnel were ever hit.

I know a Marine reservist who worked on the border wall in Douglas, AZ. Same experience.

We’re just too darned nice for our own good, sometimes.

"Apparently you've forgotten the Murial Boat Lift, as well as his immigration amnesty for millions in 1986. The Mariel Boatlift was in the fall of 1980, at the end of Carter's term in office."

Two separate events. He failed twice.

So, you are saying the Murial Boat lift is different from the Mariel Boatlift under President Carter?

Where is information on the "Murial Boat Lift"

Reagan had NOTHING to do with the 1980 Mariel Boatlift.

BTW the immigration action of 1986 was indeed a horrible disaster. Reagan should have never trusted the evil left. It is a black mark on his Presidency.

Thanks. Since my post, I have revised my opinion. I was just initially concerned that the apology which WAS tendered had been ignored in the post....but now I see how hollow and lame that apology for the circumstance is.
