The San Diego border region actually has got a lot of nice residential areas and more springing up. We’re far away enough from the border, and it’s built up contiguously enough, that we never see a migrating illegal alien. I guess they’re still coming in elsewhere. Many areas along border are without fence or poor excuse for one. But we are now importing illegals.

I lived in Chula Vista from 1961 to 1983. I purchased a house in Mira Mesa in August 1983. I sold the Mira Mesa house in Feb 2001 after purchasing a nice home in Pocatello, ID in August 2000. Gangs, graffiti and gunshots arrived in Mira Mesa about 1996. It was a big clue that it was time to go. The cartel gangs have a foothold in Layton, UT and export some of their drug violence into southeast Idaho now.

“I guess they’re still coming in elsewhere.”

They’re coming to Escondido where “Deputy Mayor” Olga Diaz is waving a large “Welcome Amigos” flag.
