I was on the unit combat pistol team for years and we shot the M1911 at matches. We practiced several times a week and shot between 50 and 100 round each time.

I still use my 1911 when I go into the wild, just in case a feral hog gets too close. So far, I haven’t had to use it, but I want it if I a hog gets too close.

I’ve got US Military Colt 1911A1s, a Colt 1911, Springfields, Rock Island, Auto Ordnance, and a couple Colt commercial compacts and a Remington.

By far, by far, the best most accurate ones I have are my two Ruger SR1911s. I have still yet to put my SR1911 Commander version though a high round count test.

I carry the S&W K model .357 for wilderness wondering, or gold panning excursions.
I like my Kimber .45 but choosing the right bullet for each occasion is important.
Feral street trash fits the .45 nicely.
