Senator Pat Roberts Makes Major Freudian Slip in Interview (Video)

Appearing on a Kansas City local radio talk show on KCMO Thursday morning, Senator Pat Roberts made a verbal gaffe that plays right into his primary opponent's main talking point against him.

Reports show that Roberts spends very little time his home state of Kansas - less than 100 days using official funds over the course of two years, an issue his opponent, radiologist, Dr. Milton Wolfe has capitalized on.

"After 47 years in Washington, it's clear that Kansas is a distant memory for Pat Roberts," Wolf said back in May. "How else do you explain Roberts wanting to spend his time anywhere but Kansas? Maybe if he still lived here he'd actually want to return here. "

When KCMO talk show Greg Knapp asked Roberts about the residency issue, Roberts answered that his performance shouldn’t be measured on where he lives.

“I don’t measure my competency or my record or the results – and I do get results – on where I put my head on a pillow,” he said.

But pressed about listener concerns that Roberts does not actually live in the state, the Senator faltered badly. “Every time I get an opponent, uh, I mean every time I get a chance I’m home,” Roberts said.

In another misstep, today, the Roberts’ camp retweeted a race baiter who slimed Milton Wolfe by saying Roberts should not have to debate “a racist and a fool”. The campaign deleted the retweet after one minute, but the damage was already done - Twitchy has the screenshot.

Another useless member of the House of Lords, with the same sense of entitlement as a member of the Obummer Gibmedat Club.

Milton Wolf is an ego maniac and a fraud.
Wolf has never put up a yard sign or even had a bumper sticker for any other candidate.
Wolf has never walked door to door for any other candidate.
Wolf has never contributed to any other candidate.
Wolf has barely even voted in his adult life, he sure does not vote in every election.
All I care about is how my Senator votes on bills before him, and how much he helps other like minded candidates.
Roberts votes exactly like any true conservative would vote.
Roberts has done a great deal to help other conservatives get elected.

BTW, the Democrats will defeat Wolf if Wolf wins the primary. Wolf has way too much baggage, he has done some very stupid things.

“Roberts votes exactly like any true conservative would vote.”

So I take it it’s o.k. with you if one of your elected senators never spends any time in the state that elected him. Kansas has a “National Senator” in Roberts who votes as he is told by organizations like the National Chamber of Communists and probably doesn’t give a fig about your or your “fly over” state!
Wolf may not be the answer, but Roberts sure as hell isn’t either.
47 years in office means that Kansans are either lazy or dumb, or both! But then you have a lot of company in other states (can you Say Mississippi for openers).

I was really neutral about this primary before the race baiting. With what we saw in Mississippi, this is just unacceptable. Go Wolf.

Pat Roberts gets a 93% from Heritage - http://www.heritageactionscorecard.com/members/member/R000307

If the wasted dollars spent attacking Roberts had instead had going to McDaniels, he might have beaten Thad Cochran (57% from heritage).

Guys, you gotta be smart and pick your battles or we'll lose them all.

He should spend more time in Kansas, but all that really matters is how he votes, and he is one of the most conservative votes in Congress.

Do nothing pubbie? He's sponsoring 47 bills and Co-sponsoring 303. He's been a unwavering voice in the fight to uncover Benghazi. He's been stalwart in his opposition to Obamacare. He's also just the 4th most conservative senator if that matters to you.

Do you really have any idea who Senator Roberts is or are you just rabble rousing?

Who in your mind is "do something" senator?

Name ONE conservative organization which has endorsed Milton Wolf?

And might I remind you that posting personal medical information about ANYONE on your Facebook page is a violation of Federal Law. HIPAA and other privacy rights were violated when Wolf posted X-rays of shooting victims on his FB page.

It was a stupid thing to do, and it is enough to throw this seat to the Democrats.

Wolf has never done anything for anybody, politically.
Wolf is con-artist.
Wolf is absolutely not a conservative, he has no history to back up his fake and pretentious claims about himself.

This is a silly comment.
I do not trust Wolf.
Wolf is a fake, he is a fraud.
He is telling people what they want to hear.
Wolf has not been tested. He has not been a part of any conservative movement in Kansas.
Those who first tried to help him have documented that he is a fake.
The most powerful person with the NRA in Kansas thinks Wolf is a complete fake. She is a legislator and President of a Kansas 2nd Amendment organization.
Wolf had no religious posts at all on Facebook, but lots of wild party picks, prior to his announcement, then he cleaned them all up, or so he thought.
To each his own, but why so phony?

If you support Wolf you are being used.

I’m with you. wolf should start by running for Dog Catcher in Leawood, Ks first. I am not impressed with his attacks on Pat Roberts. Kansas is a state that respects integrity something that Milton Wolf does not have.

“If you support Wolf you are being used.”

I don’t necessarily support Wolf but it doesn’t matter because I’m not a Kansas resident. But do you really believe in having someone “represent” you for nearly 50 years? I am for throwing out most, if not all of those who have “represented” anyone for more than a couple of terms. Being a US Senator was not meant to be a lifetime career. I submit that Roberts is a big part of what’s wrong with our government. The guy doesn’t even own a home in your state. He’s gotten used to the lifestyle and that’s more important to him than being a good senator. Just like down in Mississippi where you have the same pork barrel, bring home the bacon no matter whether or not it makes sense kind of representative. Just how is that any different than Obama and the RATs? In the end you get what you vote for, and in Roberts case, you aren’t getting much.
