Any truck or vehicle that purposely does this is making themselves a target for severe retaliation. A lot of people (Prius owners included) don’t need much of a reason to develop a hot case of Road Rage.

Why do I suspect that two guys in Podunk did this, and the writer decided to call it a “movement” by “conservatives”?
For example, well over half the states require emissions testing, so this would be effectively outlawed. And even in the non testing states, if a police officer sees your vehicle belching smoke, he will likely pull you over for safety reasons.
Maybe I missed something in the linked article, but I didn’t see anyone “admit” to being a conservative. Just because they don’t like obammy or environmentalists? That does not a conservative make.
There’s nothing (conservatively) wrong with driving a Prius. I don’t have one, but they’re actually pretty cool technology-wise. Conservatives were actually some of the first conservationists, i.e. conserving and providing for reasonable use of our natural assets.
That said, I’d have a hard time convicting any Prius owner who was coal rolled, suffered a bout of road rage, and took it out on an instigator’s truck.
My motorhome puts out some smoke, but only because it’s 41 years old. One day a guy parked next to me in a parking lot and turned up his stereo. So I started my engine. He moved.
Keep it off when the cops are around and when the vehicle is tested.

Geez in my younger days it was see how loud you could get your 440 six pack. 3 inch straight pipe connected to a set of Hooker Headers was a start.
You should laugh at those idiots who use the oversize chrome wheels/low profile tires. I know someone who did that, and he has to carry an air pump with the car wherever it goes. There’s so little rubber on those extremely low profile tires, they won’t seal well to the rims, the side wall gets tore up easily, they cost a fortune, and it feels like you’re riding with solid metal wheels (which you almost are).
None of this has to do with coal rolling of course...8)

I bicycle. I bicycle ALOT and not because I'm some "greenie" or am looking to save the planet by not driving. No, I bicycle for my HEALTH. I do it to lose weight. I'm also a Conservative. A Conservative who drives a gas guzzling SUV that gets a whopping 14 mpg.
