That’s why I always call her Gilligan-Sebelius. She married a weak-willed son of a prominent Kansas Republican Congressman, Keith Sebelius. She then used the well-respected name of Sebelius as an entrée to political office in the state. As a stand-alone Marxist Democrat, Gilligan would’ve had a bit more trouble ascending to the Kansas throne in Topeka absent the marriage.
Did not know about the Sebelius history in Kansas, but I always wondered how a Baraqqi regime partisan got in office out there.
