Not sure how the 'pubs could've cut anything. They didn't take control of the House until 2011. This story says they cut the budget in 2010.
As pointed out earlier, multi checks to same address, big bonuses etc.
Only in Washington is a 14% cut seen as a draconian, medieval torture level measure beyond which a massive organization cannot function.
Without knowing exactly what the cuts entailed, I’d guess they were reductions in future growth (i.e. Instead of growing 20% in 2014, they were only allowed to grow 10%) rather than ACTUAL cuts.
All that notwithstanding, how could the Tea Party have driven anything when the Republican Party didn’t actually take control of the House until 2011. Sure, they won the House in 2010 but didn’t take control until 2011. The first budget they could possibly have influenced was the 2012 budget.
PLEASE DO NOT believe the lies being pushed by the MSM (yeah, like THEY tell the truth about anything) but find out how the FAIRTAX would shrink and KEEP fedzillas tax collection bureaucracy to less than 1% of its present size and eliminate PERSONAL interactions with INDIVIDUAL CITIZENS!
In 2012 - after these unthinkable cuts - the IRS budget was still 12 BILLION DOLLARS.
$12,000,000,000
This story is the tax man beating you up, taking your $10 lunch money, having the king force them to give you back a dollar and the tax man taking revenge on you because of that dollar.
They can go...well...you know.
So now we have to apologize to Leviathan for hurting its feelings?
The IRS doesn't want us to apologize.
It wants us to die.
Uhhhhhhh, if you'll notice, I have repeatedly pointed out that the Tea Party could not have possibly "driven" anything in 2010 because not even the Republican Party was in power until 2011, let alone The Tea Party.
I'm not sure who you think is believing the lies being told by the Men Seeking Men media, but it's not I.
Nor anyone else on this thread as far as I can tell.
Eagle, That was NOT directed at you.
Every FReeper knows of and loves your ideological purity and strong stand for truth, freedom and the American Way!
Roger that.
Agreed.
If there was a shred of decency in them they would close their doors, walk to the nearest church, fall on the knees and beg forgiveness for being such enabling fools ....
I did not review the budgets to confirm when the actual IRS “cuts” took place. It’s possible the author typoed on the year. If not, you’re 100% correct.
This is not going to be a popular comment, but read through to the end.
She is a great example of why you should never talk to cops.
If she testified truthfully she would go to jail and the administration would fall.
She knew the tracks were covered, and as long as she doesn’t talk the house of cards doesn’t fall.
No personal good ever comes from even casually aiding in an investigation. Even the Miranda warning tells you that anything can be used AGAINST you—not for you—to put you in jail. What sane person would talk to the authorities in that situation.
As the Dem’s say, “This is a teachable moment.”
While I abhor the context of her stonewalling, you have to understand her standing her ground. More republicans in the past should have told the investigators to F-off. Not lie, but just shut up.
The only way she is going to talk is if they put a gun to a close relative’s head, or if the check doesn’t clear to the Swiss bank. I would not be shocked to see her fall down some stairs or have a heart attack out of the blue.
It is the best advice ever from a defense attorney. Don’t do their work for them.
How many bullets did the EPA order?
Anyone against the government is a target.
So government is now so big and agencies of it are so strong they can go after citizens and retaliate for those who dare advocate spending cuts that would effect their agency. Time to shut them down.
Did not get fired, just ridiculed.
I proposed that some of our Youth Authority inmates had parents who could pay for some of the costs of their incarceration.
A year later they came up with the state victims of violent crime fund, which inmates paid into.
Same/same
I had ears that in some pleas you had to pay $90 a month to be on probation, if you were working. circa 1986.
“So according to the New York Times, the targeting of the Tea Party, which the IRS admitted was wrong and for which it faux-apologized, is a direct result of the broad Tea Party-driven spending cuts of 2010.
This is bull crap. It was all on Obamas orders to clear the
way for the democrat and democrat lite party (republican).
I guess Matthew Clark hasn’t realized yet that the so called
republican party knew all along what the Obama was doing
to the TEA party and they just sat there and let it happen.
No the IRS’s attack on conservative republicans wasn’t over
a budget cut, it was all about election fraud.
The last thing we need is some liberal hack, posing as a
conservative making up excuses for the IRS, and covering
for the Obama.
