Remember, it was the Clintons, who once in office stated that only politically correct speech would be the norm, and since it is the left that has defined what that exactly is. I cannot imagine why you say that, I have seen freedom steadily erode for the seventy years I have lived, during that time the ratchet has only worked in one direction, toward ever increasing tyranny. What reason is there to believe that will change just because the current resident leaves office?
