Shortened title for search purposes. Original title: "Widow of man shot dead in movie theater 'for texting' hits out at judge after retired Florida police captain 'shooter' is released to house arrest"

They loooove long titles in UK.

That poor widow having to share a hometown with this hothead powermad individual who injured her permanently and slayed her husband. Her poor daughter, without a daddy to grow up with. And now the ranks close around the guy who pulled the trigger over "feeling dissed." Lord, have mercy.

It's GOOD to be a King's Man.

Or a retired King's Man. Or "K-9 officer". Or a retired "K-9 officer".

Being a peasant, or a peasant's dog? Not so much...

Down in the article it reads:

‘We are floored, we are devastated,’ he added.

not as in the caption excerpted:

‘We are flooded, we are devastated,’ said lawyer representing Nicole Oulson after news of Reeves’ impending release

When the peasants in the grocery store see him coming, they'd best stop texting and assume the proper position to address a King's Man.

On their belly, with their face on the floor, hands behind their back...

Ok. I’ll step in it (please have mercy on me). If a 43 year old confronts a 71 year old after being asked for a perfectly reasonable request to put his F’N cell phone away, why shouldn’t said 71 year old feel threatened with dire physical harm? If the guy wasn’t reasonable when asked, what made the 71 year old think he would be reasonable after standing up and confronting him?

He should have stayed behind bars — it’s been good for him — he’s lost a lot of weight.

Of course now he will be going to the grocery store everyday — hopefully he will stay out of the popcorn aisle.

He’s on bail, house arrest. People need to stop being so dramatic. Bail happens, even in murder trials.

Transcripts of jailhouse phone calls between murder suspect Curtis Reeves and his family released in the spring revealed the retired Florida police captain was confident of his acquittal.

If there is any justice at all then he will be badly disappointed.

A trial date was expected to be set during the hearing, but defense attorneys said they were still in the midst of investigating the state's evidence, including 100 witnesses. Attorneys will meet September 10 to determine a trial date.

There are no 100 witnesses. In other words as long as he is out on bail his attorneys will drag this thing out for as many years as necessary hoping that he dies of old age before he goes back to jail.

If he had stayed in jail then this would go to trial sooner than later.

And of course he will take the plea deal at the very last minute.

Plus she’s probably watching her movies at home now where it doesn’t disturb anyone else.

I really can’t muster up any outrage over the old fart making bail and being released to house arrest. It’s legal and accords with the constitutional rights of the accused.

Good manners saves lives and it’s sad that neither man involved didn’t have better manners and their collective dumbassery contributed to making a child fatherless.

Did the texter deserve to be shot? No, but his own bad manners contributed heavily to his own demise, because you never no when a cantankerous old man is an armed contankerous old man.

It just a damn shame.

He’s an old man, who didn’t have any criminal record. Really?! He’s also a retired policeman who should have known better. In fear for his life because the man snatched popcorn out of his lap. omg.

Listen. I know those texters in theaters are irritating, but you don’t MURDER THEM.
