In a dramatic development Tuesday, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has fired his Deputy Defense Minister Danny Danon.
Danon, who is a member of Netanyahu's Likud party, has been a consistent and sometimes harsh critic of the prime minister's leadership. Sources close to the PM say Danon's scathing criticism of the government's decision to sign up to a ceasefire agreement with Hamas proved the last straw.
Hopes of a ceasefire crumbled after Hamas rejected it and fired dozens of rockets onto Israeli population centers, prompting Israel to respond with more airstrikes after several hours of restraint.
While some analysts - including Foreign Minister Avigdor Liberman - have criticized the government's willingness to consider yet another ceasefire with Hamas, others have praised the decision to accept as a smart move which isolated Hamas internationally after the Islamist terrorist group rejected it, and gave Israel more legitimacy to continue its ongoing operation in Gaza.
"At a time when the Government of Israel and the IDF find themselves at the height of a military operation against terrorist organizations, and are acting with determination to ensure the security of the citizens of the country, it is unacceptable that the deputy defense minister attacks so sharply the actions of the government that is leading the operation," Netanyahu wrote in a statement explaining his decision.

In terms of leadership, I agree.
In terms of what is right or not, I heartily agree with Danon.
These cease fires are only temporary and Hamas always rearms and attacks again.
Time to put Hamas down fully has passed many moons ago.

Going to be tougher to rearm now that Hamas is on Egypt’s $hit list.
The problem in Israel is the enemy within... by this I not only refer to the Islamic squatters within the land of Israel/Judea/Samaria/Gaza....but also most particuarly the enemy Jews within the government in Jersualem.
The ones who continually weaken Israel or give away its lands or who don’t let the IDF elminiate threats to Israel’s citizens (and the little country’s survival).

It's hard for me to imagine where they would go. I guess they will be stationed everywhere there is a Muslim.

One thing was interesting.
We went to our Lord's tomb, right next to where he was crucified...but there was no more "hill" of Calvary.
Apparently the ROMANS took down the entire hill because so many new Christians were going there and the Romans weren't happy about it.
So the Romans TOOK DOWN the ENTIRE hill of "Mount Calvary" so the precise place of the crucifixion is RIGHT next to our Lord's tomb. I kept looking for "Mount" Calvary. GONE since the 3rd or 4th century.

Netanyahu is playing a difficult and complex game. He has proven himself a master making many hits and few errors. He needs the latitude to play it as he sees fit. Now, if he coordinates with other government officials to give the appearance of internal strife, that’s one thing. For example he might ask a former general to bring certain facts to light and those facts may or may not seem critical of Netanyahu’s position. But they send a message to the other players. If, however, he has a loose cannon on the deck then that cannon has to go.
Sure...but the Air Force guys did need a breather...seriously. Thise ground crews need to sleep sometime!
I have liked Netanyahu for a long time. I haven’t always agree with his actions. I do agree with your comments. I understand the principle you’re touching on. Your comments make sense.
I would suspect they haven’t had all their aircraft in the air. Did I read somewhere here that they have hit 1100 or so targets so far? That was an ambitious campaign.
It could be Israel would like to some time to set up for more action too.

N was smart enough to recognize a win-win situation when he got it.
Everyone knows Hamas would refuse a ceasefire and/or break it immediately, so I see accepting the cease-fire right away as a VERY smart move by Israel. I don’t see what they have to lose because it totally legitimizes their responses WHEN Hamas breaks or refuses the ceasefire.
