“You don’t prosecute unless you have a REASONABLE chance of conviction.”

“Reason” left the station a long time ago. Will a conviction make it past Reid? Probably not.

Do it anyway. This needs to happen.

I have mixed feelings. Does Obama deserve to be impeached? Hell, yes. Many times over. The problem is that when the Founders set up the impeachment option, it was based on the notion that a president, duly elected, might go rogue, but a fundamentally ethical Congress would shut him down. Unfortunately, what we have is a corrupt, incompetent ideologue propelled to the White House with the continued support and encouragement of a corrupt political party that still holds enough power to prevent his removal; or in the unlikely case that he is removed from power, replace him with someone equally as corrupt and incompetent.

Given the very credible prospect that impeachment proceedings against Obama would aid the Democrats (cheered on by the MSM) in their ability to play the race card and otherwise paint the GOP as angry, vengeful extremists, the best outcome would be his removal, and then we get Biden.

I think that the only way to really remedy the Obama blight is going to (1) take the Senate, (2) use control of both houses to shut down his radical agenda, (3) fully investigate and prosecute him and his entire cadre to the full extent of the law after he’s peacefully left office. Unfortunately, I don’t imagine the GOP will have the fortitude to do #3 for fear of being seen as sore winners and not wanting to stir the pot, but if they fail to do it, they’ll be rolling out the red carpet for the next Obama-esque regime, which you can bet will be even worse.

Then there is no point in having impeachment in the Constitution.

It would be silly to try to impeach at this point. It would be a waste of time and IT WOULD TAKE THE ATTENTION OFF OBAMA’S INCOMPETENCE.

The liberal media would love nothing more than to take the attention off Obama’s failures with the economy, immigration, foreign policy, etc. The republicans have just the clowns to do it.

Obama’s poll numbers are down. The repubs need to be focused on gaining in the house and taking the senate. If that doesn’t happen, we’re in very serious trouble for Obama’s last two years.

Obama won’t be removed from office with the demos controlling the senate. It would just be a side show where the media would make the republican buffoons look like buffoons.

Obama is one big train wreck. Why take the attention off him?

What threatens one member of the perfumed class, threatens them all. This is the one point which is absolutely non partisan

Why are “Dick Cheney” and “House conservatives” mentioned in the same sentence?

Obama is guilty of high crimes and misdemeanors. In a perfect world, he’d be gone. However, we do not live in a perfect world. We must deal with the one we live in.

There is absolutely no way he would be ousted by the Senate. The exercise would only serve to make “impeachment” the issue of the day; mobilizing his demoralized minions and base and remove a host of his problems from the debate before the election.

So, if we cannot succeed, and, in effect, surrender issues that help us in the process - while mobilizing his allies for him; it would be an exercise in insanity and futility.

Passing articles of impeachment in the House would only be a Pyrhhic victory.

I saw Howie Kurtz (that marvelous liberal bastard!) on Fox smirking and chortling about how out of touch Palin was and was doing his best to restrain his glee when his panel of guests were all in agreement with him. It was sick to see Fox News and the panel basically trashing Palin. If I wanted to see this kind of BS, I’d switch over the CNN or MSNBC.

Once again, Palin is the one to lead us.
+++++
My thoughts exactly. Palin is always out in front on issues. We just need to let the pot boil. If Obama loses the Senate in November the level of unconstitutional actions will assuredly ramp up and with that you will see a corresponding increase in support for the Palin position.

But I don’t expect impeachment and certainly not removal from office. But the buzz will pay dividends in 2016.

She's right, I don't care what anyone says, even you Mr. Cheney. Even in the article there are excuses not to do it after the midterms and not to do it after 2016.

I know, lets do nothing......that will help. COWARDS. FUGOP.

‘there won’t be impeachment charges’

remind me again what power congress has against an out of control executive?

oh yea, impeachment. and now, they don’t even have that. unless they’re thinking treason charges, then that’s the game.

this is what a blank check looks like

they’ve just giving everyone in south america a green light to move into the US

nothing will change this ... unless we get an epidemic outbreak of some kind. even then, i doubt they’d do their job and just let 0bama double fist the nation

Which is why the Leftist press is devoting so much airtime and print space to the calls for impeachment.

Exactly. And as much as I like Palin; I am disappointed she knowingly stepped into this pile of horse manure.

What will impeaching Obmugabe get us? President Joe Biden?

No thanks.

Stupid should hurt. Stupid should hurt really bad. It’s how the truly obtuse eventually learn. Obamugabe has left a wake of destruction and pain that is waking people up to the whole damnably corrupt system built by the parasites in Washington D.C. That includes Ruling-Class scumbags on both sides of the Uniparty.

Fight him legislatively, by all means necessary. But impeachment is a suicide mission, a WWI-style human wave running toward a machine gun nest.

We need to build our ranks right now. That should be the focus, not meaningless symbolic efforts.

If a motion to impeach is started, and then successful, you will see coast to coast riots. Whole cities will burn.

The GOP knows this. It would also give the Dems fodder to attack the GOP for generations.

Simply put, you can’t impeach the first black president.

"You don’t prosecute unless you have a REASONABLE chance of conviction."

roger that. If you impeach and don't get a conviction the medial will trumpet it as complete vindication for Obama on everything he's ever done. And in the process you fire up a currently disillusioned base. There is NO upside to impeachment unless we hold 67 seats in the Senate.

Eunuchs. Sad when Sarah has bigger balls.
But impeachment is at this point the only way out. It will be obvious by early next year.

Agree. His work is done. He should be spending remaining time trying to instill some common sense into his wayward daughter.

Sorry, this is BS. Poor black neighborhoods might burn, but that is it. There won't be riots in my neighborhood. Why don't we just let the whole country turn to ruin instead?

He is impeaching himself (and his party) every day with his arrogance and incompetence. Why distract from that??

Because the country is more important then a political party or a philosophy ? If you let his crimes stand, the US is finished.
