Jonathan Turley to Congress: You face self-destruction if you don’t rein in Obama
Hot Air ^ | July | ALLAHPUNDIT

Via the Daily Caller, an elegant opening statement from today’s House Rules Committee hearing on Boehner’s separation-of-powers lawsuit. You’ve heard him make this argument before but he’s getting more apocalyptic with each appearance before Congress — and who can blame him? The last time he testified, Obama wasn’t babbling to activists about amnestizing five million illegals with a stroke of his pen. Today Turley calls O’s rhetoric about unilateral action “extreme” and warns the committee that Congress will effectively self-destruct if the executive is allowed to do what he wants whenever there’s gridlock. After all, in a system of limited powers, gridlock produces paralysis, not government by executive diktat; the whole point of checks and balances, he says correctly, is to protect the individual citizen’s liberty by getting the different arms of the federal government to police each other.

If the president can override Congress whenever it’s at an impasse, the minority party will be forced to choose between letting the president do what he wants by executive order and “compromising” by signing onto a bill that lets the president do what he wants in exchange for a few concessions. That’s the end of Congress, and the end of checks and balances.

Congress doesn’t care. They’ll still get paid handsomely to just sit there and pretend they’re doing something.

RE Obama 3rd term. It’s going to happen. The kenyan had already said he is not leaving DC in 2017. He is just going to move down the street from the WH and set up shop. And the GOP won’t say or do a damn thing about it.

Even if the RINOs take the Senate AND the house voted out articles of Impeachment there is no chance the cowards currently residing in the Senate would vote to remove.
Collins? Hell no.
Flake? Hell no.
McLoser? Hell no.
Grahamnesty? Hell no
Lamar ? Hell no
Hatch, Cornyn ? Hell no.

Never Happen.

I fear Obama, emboldened by lack of any serious efforts to stop his unconstitutional power grabs, will continue to move toward one man rule. If the GOP succeeds in taking both houses of Congress this November, Obama will simply ignore Congress and the courts. Looking at history many despots have slowly grabbed power and then using the cover of some crisis either real or trumped up completed their power grab by suspending civil liberties, ending free elections and most importantly disarming the populous. I am holding my breath until 2016.

the House has all the power it needs. Defund! Defund! Defund!

Instead, the Weeper of the House files that joke of a lawsuit. A coequal branch of government, instead of using its own powers, runs and whines to another branch. The Boehner House does nothing but talk.

Jonathan Turley to Congress: You face self-destruction if you don’t rein in Obama

Turley, no pal'o'the Right, is telling us something of great importance, viz

Our attention is misdirected. Obama is a problem. But THE problem is the misfeasance of our representatives in the House who have chosen to do business as usual during the 6 years of this criminal President's reign. Congress, The House under John Boehner, has not used the powers granted to it by the Constitution very wisely, if at all. Republican Senators? No help there. Too many of them showed their true colors in the fight against McDaniel.

Impeach Obama? Oh, OK! Go ahead and waste more time. Ditto the "Lawsuit." We really would get a lot more done if our representatives would just plain fire John Boehner. He is not doing his job. The present situation is IMNVHO, much more the Republican's Fault than Obama's.

"Why," you ask? Simple. Barack Hussein Obama was a socialist in 2008, an ideologue, an unbarred attorney, a man whose illegal activities in Africa in support of the "Communist jihadi," Raila Odinga, led directly to the gruesome deaths of thousands of Christians. He and his Team Obama have done nothing more than we would exactly expect the traitorous bastards to do. But they have done it with NO meaningful resistance ... much less effective countermeasures, ... from the GOP.

The "Power of the Purse." There is no need for the House to give Obama any money for the more nefarious of his schemes. There is no budget. The Republicans have allowed the President to call the financial tune and seem to enjoy amazing perks for dancing to it. They keep the party going when they should go home and see the damage this SOB has wrought, stop it cold or die trying.

The Mess? The Fault of the Republicans in the House. They won't fight. They won't do their jobs. They won't even fire Boehner. THEY are THE problem

I really believe we are past the point of saving this country by the accepted standard means. Elections have been compromised and we have a majority of elected leaders who do not function as representatives of the American people. Looking for them to right this national nightmare is a waste.

We have over two years left of this regime. It isn’t just Obama, it is all of them that are traitors, with the exception of a few decent people.

We have pretty much run out of time. I wouldn’t get too overly excited that the 2014 elections will end up the way we want. Even if they did, that won’t stop Obama and the henchmen that are running this lawless and corrupt government.

We The People are far too docile. You would think by now, with this hoard of illegals invading, that people would be taking to the streets. A handful are out there, but most of us that are furious just hide out with our anger. The clock is ticking and the hour is late, really late.

I e-mailed my GOP congress critter, IN, called his local office, left agitated messages: “Do something!” and still haven’t received a response.
He’s still pretty new, so he may be getting de-horned and nutted.

There isn’t any realistic solution to those except for asking the military to pick sides.

Has this POS Turley every suggested that Obama has comitted High Crimes and Misdemeanors?

Someone needs to show just how much of a total hypocrite is Turley. Someone needs to shove a mic in his face and ask bluntly, For the sake of our Republic, should Obama be removed from office?

His answer will be, of course not.

When push comes to shove the POS Turley will ALWAYS support the Marxist.

Check out what people are talking about around you. They couldn’t care less about what’s happening to their country. Sometimes they get riled up, but it’s about their landlord or their frenemy or the way those durn buses can’t stay on schedule.
