Senator Paul has distanced himself from the Republican voters seeking justice in this situation, commenting that, “I’m for more people voting, not less people voting,” and adding — for good measure — “I think the people of Mississippi spoke and I think Thad Cochran has done a lot of good things for Mississippi.”

Rand Paul, just another example of apple/tree, he can ESAD.

For all the randpaul crazies, sameo-sameo.

The reason why you only hear Ted Cruz on the MS election, illegal immigration - any of the multiple scandals surrounding Obama is that the other potential contenders (Christie, Paul, Rubio, Romney - whatever wanna be third/fourth runner-up) do not want to upset the GOP (the ‘e’ isn’t needed any more) and lose all the behind-the-scenes election support and corruption.

This means IOWA, and it means New Hampshire. We’ve seen at least one sign of it in IOWA already; meddling in NH is yet to be seen.

Regardless of what happens in the two states, if I do not see a “Ted Cruz” on the ballot here in Georgia, then I’ll just not vote at all. I’ll sit it out as I should have done in 2012 when I pulled the lever for that coward Romney. No More. The GOP is dead to me.

Ronald Reagan: Best vote I ever cast in my life.

Ted Cruz: Second best vote I ever cast in my life.

Well done Mr. Ericson, well done. A highly refreshing read to start the day here at FR.

“do not want to upset the GOP (the ‘e’ isn’t needed any more)”

The GOP won’t see another cent of my money unless there are sweeping and meaningful changes. I don’t expect them.

Certain Tea Party interests and PACs will get it instead. If Ted Cruz runs for President I’ll support him directly. At this point he looks to be the only decent candidate - in many respects.

Hard not to become discouraged. You have to ask yourself, “Why would a person of integrity ever want to run for political office today?” given the corruption and pressure of a system that can very easily destroy you or compromise you beyond all recognition. There are still good people at the state level but at the Federal level something very sinister seems to happen to most all of them - and it definitely seem evil.

President Cruz.

I like the sound of that.

Cruz takes bullets from his own party for daring to challenge the system.

This sentence says VOLUMES about where our politics are today.

Cruz will get my vote in 2016 — even if I have to write him in. I will not vote for another liberal — Republican or Democrat.

where are all the Freep Paul bots who have insisted for years that the Pauls were honest, earnest fighters for liberty and limited government???????? Some of us always said the bots were full of sh-t - now that it’s obvious, we can’t seem to find any of them……

They’re probably all spamming some online poll - a poll that will indicate that Rand will win the 2016 General Election 4 to 1.

One by one new senators have been co-opted, if they weren’t on their way already. Ron Johnson, Kelly Ayotte, Marco Rubio and Rand Paul.

Only Ted Cruz and Mike Lee stand with us. And the Establishment has systematically prevented any others from getting nominations in their states.

McDaniel is fighting and may prevail and the Kansas and Tennessee primaries are next month.

Looking at the polling results, Paul is at the top and Cruz is at the bottom.

Thanks for the posting

After only a cursory read of this Erickson piece I agree with Eric’s conclusions. Cruz is the only guy calling like it is. Rand Paul has wandered way off the conservative reservation and has gotten mired in a libertarian swamp.

I'd definitely put Jeff Sessions up there. He's been in the Senate for years, and has kept his principles.

If a few more principled US Senators are elected, I hold out hope that a few others already there might join their ranks.

Why does Cruz do it? (gosh, I hope I'm correct here) Ted Cruz is a man who was brought up with values and principles that transcend the arrogance and greed that takes over most of the DC crowd. Cruz got to the US Senate without making compromises, by campaigning according to truly held beliefs. Most of the rest have been elevated to power from the political zoo....they have no real scruples or values.
