A Malaysian passenger airliner with 295 people on board crashed in Ukraine near the Russian border, Interfax cited an aviation industry source as saying on Thursday.

No matter who is responsible...and to me it looks like several dropped the ball which could have prevented this from happening....it’s a really difficult time for the families.

Given the acquisition, than travel time to the target,plus the speed of the aircraft, course, distance from the laubcher, etc., that make the engagement window VERY SMALL....
IMUI, that means an independent operator making a split-second decision to fire.

The FIRST question I asked when I heard of this today was, “WHAT THE HELL is a commercial aircraft doing flying directly over an active war zone???!!!”
I know the answer, of course.
To ADMIT that it is an active war zone means to admit that Ukraine is in the middle of a CIVIL WAR, which they have avoided doing to the point of being comedic, at this point.
It appears the fire fighters and local authorities were there asap. No telling who got there first...citizens as well in the area since most of them are accustomed to hearing explosions etc and check to see what’s happening....Miners were working within sight of the crash and videoed as well....
Now that this has been deemed an International Event you can pretty much expect they’ll be able to tell what actually happened in how it came down. ...if it was shot down from the ground and where the firing came from.
Yeah, did you see the photo with the Russian separatist? The look on his face was, “oops, my bad.”
They thought they bagged a military transport. You can imagine the Russian handler's response: “You IDIOT!”
Also, I would like to apologize if my cold use of jargon has in any way increased the pain of those who lost loved ones today. 298 people died needlessly today and that is a “bottom line” that we should not lose sight of.
Could the Oligarchs army, operating in the area, arranged this? We know it’s not just the Ukraine Army and Anti-Kiev forces fighting in the area...and there’s little control by any of their people.
Immediately after this was reported the politicians began to lay blame on Russia.....which in itself gives pause on why they were so quick to comment.
They all choose to forget that the Ukraine Army is fully supported by the US and EU....and the area has been ‘continually’ bombarded by Ukraine Forces at Poroshenko’s orders. But none are mentioning that FACT.
I certainly don’t know who actually took out the plane.....but I do question why it was there after it was reported all week that planes needed to avoid the area.

Per the Daily Mail article, the aircraft was operating ABOVE the “Restricted area”, but only by +300 meters!

Looks more and more like that’s a strong possibility.....still it’s concerning there were even any flights crossing the area.

That was my first question way back thread as well. Some have said it was the pilots decision, who are given the authority to determine such.
The black box’s will be able to determine much in that regard.
Putin is a predator. He senses weakness. We elected a weak leader. We are partially to blame for this escalation. Even JFK had enough sense and gumption to draw a line in the sand and mean it. Pity on us for not being a superpower anymore.

I never listen to McCain’s take on anything.....He’s an old dried up warhorse I have zip-zero use for after he handed Obama the Election.
I think in the end the framework will be the “terrorists” are responsible....be it they captured one of Ukraines military pieces to pull it off or one of those Russia provided the Anti-Kiev forces.
But as we’ve seen already..Hillary hasn’t waited for the facts and already positioning her stance that Russia will be blamed one way or another....anything to distance the US involvement in Ukraine’s war.
Meanwhile it will be forthcoming what the International Investigation reveals as this event is brought together and actual evidence is determined.
