A few years ago I went fly fishing with a guy who owned a decade old LR. The LR ran great during the 3 day trip. I asked him how he got a good one.

He said it was a lemon when he bought it. He basically had every part replaced before his warranty ran out. Somehow he had gotten a copy of bad parts and what the shop was to tell the owners to avoid doing any warranty work. So he knew how to handle his dealer and demand that certain parts be replaced with new ones. If the part worked the way it was intended, he bought an spare or two for his future use.
