Claude Motley's story of coming home to a city he doesn't recognize
Milwaukee J-S ^ | 20 july 2014 | Eugene Kane

Posted on 07/20/2014 5:30:03 AM PDT by rellimpank

This is a personal snapshot of inner city gun violence from a man who knows what it feels like:

Claude Motley dropped off a friend late at night on W. Capitol Drive and paused to check his cellphone for emails. Motley, 43, was in Milwaukee for the class reunion of Milwaukee Tech High School from his current hometown of Charlotte, N.C., where he and his wife moved five years ago from Milwaukee to pursue business opportunities.

They wanted to live somewhere else for various reasons, including their concern about rising violence in the city.

Born and raised on the north side of Milwaukee, Motley felt suspicious when a car stopped in his path while he was parked and another began to circle the area near N. 63rd St. Somehow, he knew what was coming.

A bunch of young guys was going to try to carjack him or worse.

"I let my guard down," he said. "I looked up and the guy was rapping on my window with a gun. I punched the gas and hit the car in front of me. ... I pushed it out of the way, I heard the gunshot but I thought it was just a ricochet at first."

(snip)

--"Motley felt fortunate that he survived a possible crime that could have ended up with him dead on the sidewalk. He realized his experience was a microcosm of the epidemic of crime and guns in inner city America, the seemingly senseless plague of young black males with firearms who have taken the law into their own hands in some areas.

---- the seemingly senseless plague of young black males with firearms who have taken the law into their own hands in some areas.

--that has to be as dumb a statement as I have ever seen from Kane----"taken the law into their own hands"--??

It's a symptom of a larger disease and as many public health experts have argued in recent months, each case is a separate event that needs to be examined and scrutinized before making general assumptions.

What elephant in the middle of the room? Mustn't see, mustn't see....

Everyone should read “White Girl Bleed A Lot” to get a more accurate picture of race and crime in America and especially how it is ignored by the media. The media made a big deal over Trayvon but ignored the many reverse situations. To me, it’s all a part of the bigger war against Capitalism and the entrepreneurs who built America. Since they were generally white and change is needed, whites are now the villains just as Christians (and just about any religion encompassing Judeo-Christian values) are now bad.

I’m not so sure it’s all that dumb.

In some of these areas, the gangs are the law, or what there is of law.

“It’s a symptom of a larger disease”

Disease my a$$. These $hithole cities were created by liberal democrats to sustain the votes to stay in power. The democrats have intentionally kept the black man dependent upon them. Jobs in these big cities have vanished and the result is rampant crime to survive.

“These $hithole cities were created by liberal democrats “..........

BINGO! WE HAVE A WINNER.

Take a good look at most of those larger cities that have demodummie mayors (who by the way just happen to be black) and you will see how far those same cities have declined. Detroit has been a perfect example.

I always know what I’m going to get from one of Eugene’s columns but it’s not often he’s off the rails in the first sentence. “Gun violence” - no such thing, inanimate objects cannot initiate any action. His editor, if such a person even exists, ought to have his journalism degree revoked.

Just a guess, but I'll bet Claude Motley and family knowingly or unknowingly brought some Milwaukee's disease with them when they moved to Charlotte.

That's the trouble with the progressive disease, it spreads itself just like any other plague does from host to host. It has to, since it kills the host by infecting it, just like Claude Motley described first hand.

Those who escape the dying host city they formerly lived in, bring it with them and infect their new city with their politics, making it the new host for the parasitic progressive disease to feed upon.

Everyone should read “White Girl Bleed A Lot”

I have. I’ve also read and absorbed Michelle Malkin’s In Defense of Internment, and it occurs to me that the casualties at Pearl Harbor pale in comparison to the carnage we face every year in our cities. Not taking that thought further lest I begin to smell ozone.

But seriously - seriously! We call the generation that won WWII the “Greatest.” But as soon as they came back and began to prosper and build the greatest society the world has ever known, we - for some unfathomable reason - radically changed the laws and social mores that undergirded their efforts.

To be left as an exercise for the reader: The United States military was the mightiest force on the planet in the first half of this century. It won two World Wars as it was then constituted. But after WWII, under Truman, the best it could manage was a stalemate in Korea. It hasn’t won a war since.

Discuss.

"Motley felt fortunate that he survived a possible crime that could have ended up with him dead on the sidewalk.

I talked to a cop about this... he said the knock out game folks know exactly how far they can beat a man without killing him. Murder's a prison sentence.

Brain damage and a life of pain - for the victim - and the monsters are back on the street within weeks.

These people are vile - but they're not stupid.

Hate to tell you but “was” is correct. Noun is “bunch” which is singular. “Of young guys” is a prepositional phrase.

The problem is fatherless black males who have received a mockery of an education. Let’s not forget how much government policies contribute to this state of affairs.
