as a software contractor, i flew to job sites 2-4 times a week for 4+ years.
1.5 hr flights (many were 5 hrs+)
avg 4.5 hrs per week...
50 weeks/yr...
225 hrs/yr...
900 hrs in 4 yrs

I finished my first J.O. tour as an O-3 with 1100 hours and that was in fighters. We got a fraction of the hours the E-2 guys got. Then again my first tour looks longer than her operational time for her 30 year career.
