I know that the first-mentioned candidate (of three), Carl DeMaio, does not play up his sexual orientation. He’s not closeted/ doesn’t utterly avoid mention of it, but I was relieved to see that the issue is barely a blip on his campaign tracker. It’s all about cutting spending/ regulation and letting businesses create jobs, etc.
I find this rather interesting. Republican are supposed to be small, non-intrusive govt and all. So, it seems to me that the game plan should be to have them say, “ you are asking us to make a decision where we have no business making a decision”. I’d like to see the press tied up in knots with a response like that. We need to make comments to irriate them and throw them off their game plan. The best way to do that is to irriate them.
