"Republic" means more than that. It means there is a hierarchy and division of authority.
Democracy is the road to socialism. -Karl Marx
Democracy is indispensable to socialism.
The goal of socialism is communism. -V.I. Lenin
The meaning of peace is the absence of opposition to socialism .-Karl Marx
In the beginning when the republic was first established, only property owning males were permitted to vote in federal elections. I now see the wisdom of that. Further, US Senators were selected by the state legislatures, not by popular vote. I know see the wisdom of that. Other states established poll taxes and literacy tests. I now see the wisdom of that.
Within the past few years, the executive and judicial branches have established precedents that no election can reverse. Both branches have assumed Article I Section 1 powers to legislate.
Article I Section 1 created the American republic. ALL legislative powers therein granted were to reside within a congress of the people and states.
When legislative power is assumed by the unelected, despotism is established.
Everything else is irrelevant until this fundamental contradiction and offense to republican government is solved.
Fear not Article V. There is nothing to lose.
Rule of the majority is not always good thing.
What if the majority of the voters want to confiscate the property of a minority?
They will vote themselves higher taxes on some, collect freebies, and massively increase the size and scope of government while they’re at it. They have been doing this relentlessly since the New Deal.
Democracy=mob rule. Therefore it is not only wrong but also evil. Look how democracy has pretty much wrecked Europe.
BIG GOVERNMENT CANNOT SUCCEED...
Thomas Paine said...
“Absolute governments, (tho’ the disgrace of human nature) have this advantage with them, they are simple; if the people suffer, they know the head from which their suffering springs; know likewise the remedy; and are not bewildered by a variety of causes and cures. But the constitution of England is so exceedingly complex, that the nation may suffer for years together without being able to discover in which part the fault lies; some will say in one and some in another, and every political physician will advise a different medicine.”
The USA government is a behemoth next to England’s constitution.
Wrong.. Democracy is MOB RULE by mobsters.. always in every case..
The Italian Mob was and is democratic.. with mob sub-groupings.. like States, counties(bough's) i.e. provenance's..
Headed by Capo's... Mob structure varys but is top down..
Monarchy is also Mob Rule.. by mobsters..
Amazing how some cannot SEE the obvious “Don” or demagogues..
ALL Kings(Queens) are demagogues..
The American Consitution was and is UNIQUE in all of history..
It LIMITED THE MOB... and checked the mobsters..
Little wonder ALL democrats and many republicans WANT to abrogate it..
But the more "Free" the Countries name, often the less liberty it has.
The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, The German Democratic Republic, The Peoples Liberation Army et al ad nauseam
Uniparty Ping!
we were suppose to be a republic (nation of laws) not a democracy...................................
Note the Founders despised democracy, which was viewed as mobocracy. That’s why voting was limited to men who owned land. Julius Evola correctly criticized modern democracy as a mere vehicle for bonapartism by which tyrants accrued power through the dumbing down of the masses. See Barack Soebarkah. Once community organizer, now king.
That was a very well-written statement, delivered with a real impact.
You sure ask a lot of questions for someone from New Jersey.
Thats why our Founding Fathers set up a limited government constitutional republic.
They knew mob rule would bankrupt the country.
And they were right.
THIS.
Quite true.

Thomas Paine almost was killed during the french revolution... becasue he critizided their attempts at a democracy...
I think any one recieving largress fromthe public treasury should be disqualified from voting, but that is just me...
Who gets to decide on the Delegates? Who is in the pool of delegates?
I am familiar with the process, I am just not naive. I have been inside to many organizations, to many caucuses, to many committees not to know that such things are easily hijacked, and hard to restore.
The United States was not created as a democracy. The United States was created as a Representative Republic.
