Maybe - just maybe someone will now manage to pull off an ARMED march in DC. Over the past years I’ve read dozens of “calls” for such a thing to show Congress just how strong the people are. Unfortunately, the DC city council will have a new ordinance all ready to go that will restrict guns for some reason. I cannot believe they didn’t plan for the possibility of losing the case.
As the good Admiral said, “It’s a trap!”

Well, since anyone (felons & insane excepted) can carry anything in Vermont without a permit, anyone can carry in DC.

Read Saturday’s ruling guys. It doesn’t say “reciprocity”, it doesn’t say “declaration by CLEO”, it says NO restrictions on DC carry until a constitutional one is legislated.

READ THIS NOW IF YOU HAVEN’T: http://alangura.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/DCT_OPINION.pdf

The DC ban on gun carry has been completely struck down. The declaration of reciprocity is a grasp at some kind of limitation so things don’t get completely crazy on Monday; all he’s done is set up DC for an expensive lawsuit loss.

Stunning, but what about residents from states with Constitutional carry and thus no CCW permit?

The part of the ruling striking down denial of carry simply because you aren’t local could have far reaching implications on reciprocity.

Let’s hope...

If the chief is actually a liberal and if liberals actually believe the things they say we all MUST believe then perhaps this is a demonstration project in the expectation that DC will now experience shootouts on every block of the city and then we can get serious about taking away citizens’ guns again. Just a thought, carrying their assertions to conclusion.

somehow i don’t believe this is going to work out to gun owners’ satisfaction.

i just can’t trust them - libtard cops. or their empty, lying words and mouths.

WaPo: D.C. police won’t enforce handgun ban; stay of ruling overturning law will be sought

D.C. police were told Sunday not to arrest people for carrying handguns on the street in the wake of a judge’s ruling that overturned the city’s principal gun-control law.

However, the D.C. attorney general’s office said it would seek a stay of the ruling while the city decides whether to appeal.

In an order approved by Police Chief Cathy L. Lanier, police were told that District residents are permitted to carry pistols if the weapons are registered. Those who had not registered their handguns could be charged on that ground, the instruction said.

The number of registered pistols is thought to be low.

Lanier’s instructions to police also said that residents of other jurisdictions without felony records would not be charged under the ban on carrying pistols.
