BREAKING: Senate report exposes the movement as cash machine controlling the EPA

How a Club of Billionaires and Their Foundations Control the Environmental Movement and Obama’s EPA

A new report was released today by the Senate Environment and Public Works committee, and it is damning. All this time that climate skeptics are accused of being in the employ of “big oil” is nothing more than a projection of their own greed.

Some excerpts:

Over 7.9 BILLION in funding between these groups.

The Senate was no doubt aghast with this unexpected discovery...

Good that we have honest, resolute representation in DC.

Just so you can justifiably sneer at those that are so oblivious to the obvious I suppose...

No, I'm not sneering. I actually downloaded the report and will contact the staffers who wrote it to see if they are interested in learning something from someone who was where they are in 1998.

BTW, if you're interested, I have a draft picture book about our restoration project posted for review in a blind location on my site. FR mail me if you want to take a look.

You guys see that story where the DHS agents impounded an imported vehicle from a couple in North Carolina at gunpoint a couple days ago?

Turns out that the vehicle did not comply with EPA emissions standards....

Interesting.

You do understand the concept of incrementalism I am sure.

Do you recall those Argentinians a few short years ago who disappeared and were never heard of again?

From your link:
“The feds have given the Brinkley’s 35 days to appeal the seizure but refuse to tell them where the vehicle is located. The DHS has also failed to respond to media requests about the incident.”

Sober individuals might say: “so what?” More sober individuals say “have you any understanding of incrementalism and tyrannies testing of what they can get away with?” Sadly, very few have any inkling.

At this point I think much prayer is needed.

Unfortunately you are correct - this is just the beginning...

The question a thinking man might ask himself is “Why is DHS - of all agencies - turning their attention to what vehicles are purchased by private american citizens?”

The line of mismatched VIN numbers is a distraction in my humble opinion...

Enforcing emissions regulations is a State jurisdiction. The Feds should have no power at all in such a case.

The line of mismatched VIN numbers is a distraction in my humble opinion...

It therefore took an illegal search to get them, but as I am sure you would agree, it's the impoundment by a Federal agency that is the issue here.

Oh. How much more interesting.

Your new question may prompt yet another observation from your friends with long memories:

This sharing of information between agencies must mean that Jamie Gorelick's "wall of separation" is now seen as no longer -- hmmm, what adjective seems right here? -- useful.

What may not be understood by readers in that last comment is that Rover engines found in any vehicle have long been a target of EPA. And any found with without dealer plates (exempted) or meant to be used only on private tracks have long been a target of DOT.

The use of DHS implies that agencies are now working together in a manner that expands the danger to the citizen from all unaccountable bureaucracies. Banana republic in full swing?

My answer is yes of course....

This is usurpation of State rights pure and simple - in California - the DMV would have had the CHP confiscate the vehicle the next time it got pulled over - now the Feds are suddenly the supreme enforcer of the emissions standards? When did this legislation get passed?

I suspect ........never

Gorelick....glad I am not the only old man with a memory....
