The Yazidis, members of an ancient religious sect, fled when the Islamic State overran their homes. I feel terrible about the abuse of these Zoroastrians.
But what about the tens of thousands of followers of Jesus Christ who have been driven from their homes, abused, raped, killed?
When will their plight be recognized in the international press? When will Obama talk about helping them? Or even acknowledge them by name and demand that their persecution stop?

The Yazidi (also Yezidi, Êzidî, Yazdani, ایزدیان) are a Kurdish ethno-religious community, representing an ancient religion that is linked to Zoroastrianism.[11] They live primarily in the Nineveh Province of northern Iraq. Additional communities in Armenia, Georgia and Syria have been in decline since the 1990s, their members having emigrated to Europe, especially to Germany.[12] The Yazidi believe in God as creator of the world, which he placed under the care of seven holy beings or angels, the chief of whom is Melek Taus, the Peacock Angel.

Exactly. I didn’t realize they were Zoastrians, but now that I do. I pray they have a chance to know the Messiah before they die.

I feel terrible about the abuse of these Zoroastrians.Yezidis are not Zoroastrians, though they probably have some influence from that direction.
Most of the surviving Zoroastrians live in India and have for many centuries. The Parsees.

With the new Iraqi government, Christians are considered a potential enemy by both Sunni and Shia alike when election time rolls around. Saddam tolerated them, so the Shiite mobs drive them out of their districts, due to the stereotype that Christians will side with those who tolerated them in te elections. Then in the Shiite, well, they don’t want anyone to vote against their guys. It’s twisted it would be like states genociding those who vote against the party majority.
