As the Kentucky U.S. Senate race remains in a dead heat, courting the vote of Kentucky women is becoming a main objective of both campaigns. And Kentucky U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell has enlisted the help of his wife, former U.S. Labor Secretary Elaine Chao.
In a new ad released by the McConnell campaign Tuesday, Chao looks into the camera and criticizes the approach Democratic candidate Alison Lundergan Grimes takes with women voters.
Have you ever noticed how some liberals feel entitled to speak on behalf of all women? Chao asks before saying that Grimes gender-based attacks are desperate and false.
The ad also cites votes taken by McConnell on womens issues, including his role as a co-sponsor of an early version of the original Violence Against Women Acta point he has made before:http://mycn2.com/politics/women-for-team-mitch-argue-grimes-approach-toward-women-won-t-work . The point in the McConnell ad comes after the Grimes campaign released an ad hitting McConnell on the issue last week.
The ad also states that McConnell has cast other votes during his time in Congress before Chao comes back on camera to address Grimes personally.
Alison, supporting the Obama agenda isnt pro-woman its anti-Kentucky, Chao says at the end of the ad.
In response to the ad, the Grimes campaign called the thirty second spot dishonest and an attempt to distract from McConnells failed record on behalf of women and families in the state.
Simply saying, Im married to a woman doesnt speak loud enough. Your actions and record over 30 years in Washington indicate where and how you will stand up for women, Grimes spokeswoman Charly Norton said in a statement.
The latest Bluegrass Poll released last week shows that Grimes support among women voters dropped 11 percentage points since the last poll was done in February.

Is it the job of a Senator to “stand up for women”?
I thought it was their job to represent the entire state in the Senate.
I can see McConnell lead an initiative to "Sit down for women."
With the activist liberal women's movement to push for an elimination of urinals so that men's rooms have the same lines as women's rooms during popular entertainment events, that sounds like the perfect thing for McConnell to get behind.
Or in front of.
Or something.

lol
The KY Dems keep screwing up here despite McConnell practically handing them this seat on a silver platter. One of their “bright stars” attacked McConnell’s wife for, are you ready, being Asian (and it’s not the first time) ! Trying to solidify the bigot vote, no doubt.
Kathy Groob? And where is she from with a name like that, Uranus? ;p
I think it is important Grimes does not win and very one in KY should vote for McConnell to keep her out of the Senate.
But the fact of the matter with regard to Elaine Chao is that she is very close, friendly and unwaveringly supportive of the Chinese Communists.

FRiend, you lost me...lol! I surmise that you merely bolded the characters for emphasis.
I didn't know that Mitch's wife was W's Secretary of Labor.
I thought it was their job to represent the entire state in the Senate.
Everyone except us “Racist Conservatives.”
McConnell’s wife sits on board of group working to kill coal industry
“”For months, Republican Sen. Mitch McConnell has accused his Democratic opponent, Alison Lundergan Grimes, of engaging in a war on coal, casting her as an outright enemy of one of the states most vital industries.
But while McConnell presents himself as a defender of Kentucky coal mining, a member of his own family who serves as a key campaign surrogate is taking a role in an organization that funds one of the most aggressive anti-coal campaigns in the country.””
