Well, I think the Capitals are offensive these days, given who the leader of the Capital city is. Nationals wouldn’t ordinarily be offensive, of course, but associating Nationals with DC is a bit much, which is what I thought you meant. Nationals should be the team name for a city in the heartland, however.
We're not discussing the man, we're discussing the town. "Redskins" is NOT the "offensive" half of "Washington Redskins."
I know what you’re saying, I’ve made the same joke myself.
But realize the Left won’t stop once they get the Redskins.
As I say in #43 ... It’s “Washington” that’s the “offensive” half of any team name. The Redskins play in Landover, so “Landover Redskins” pretty much gets rid of the “offensive” half. (Sorry, George, but I know he’d back this 100 percent).
First sportscaster who says he’s going to refrain from using the “offensive” name of the team and then calls them the “Landover Redskins” will instantly lose his job, but earn the respect of most of America.
Well, the real Texas Rangers (LEOs not the team) carry guns so I guess “Rangers” (team name not the LEOs) is not long for this world.
Good. Won't have to watch them suck anymore.
Ha! No such luck - same sucky team, different name.
Now DFW has the two worst GMs in sports, Jerry and John Daniels.
In the words of Rhode Island Red, Its a joke son, its a joke.
I think that was Foghorn Leghorn
They won't. That's why we have to keep making that joke. Giving crap to "Washington" is something even the left can get behind. Everybody , right or left, has a horrible "Washington" story, be it their own or a relative or friend. Find common ground and hit it hard. That's what Reagan did, and it still works. Nobody likes Washington. It's always a winner to run against it.
I’m offended by the Ottawa Senators, too! Not the hockey team, but the actual Senators, the members of the Senate of Canada, the ‘Upper House’ of the Canadian Parliament, similar to the ‘House of Lords’ in the UK.
Unlike YOUR Senators, OUR 105 Senators are NOT elected, instead, they are appointed by the Governor General on the advice of the Prime Minister and serve until they are 75. They earn an annual base salary of $138,700 CDN. The Speaker of the Senate receives an additional $57,200, the Leader of the Government in the Senate receives and additional $78,300 and the Leader of the Opposition in the Senate receives an additional $37,300. Reform has been talked about for years, but it is a slow process, and no where near the ‘Triple-E’ Senate (”elected, equal, and effective”) that many in the West would like.
My favorite professional sports team is the "Crusaders," from Christchurch, New Zealand. Both the team name, and the city they represent would probably be "banned" in PC America.
Washington Generals
Hank Greenberg was a Jewish Tiger Hall of Famer.
Or the late Senator Fitz Hollings LOL. He sounded just like Foghorn and made as much sense too.
Our senators in DC are giving this team a bad name!
Love Pat, and love his brilliant mockery of one of the DC Dementia Twins, "Pinky" Reid. (Of course the other Dementia Twin is nasty Na卐i Peloϟϟi.)
