It’s not lunacy! It’s a well considered plan to help squishy moderates to get elected, and it works! By the same token, Democrats adamantly oppose voter ID. That’s not lunacy at all if one is a Democrat who is looking for illegal votes.

I have no idea, but I can see this as having been some 80’s or 90’s touchy-feely (Democrat-led) drive to make Republicans “more inclusive.” Hey, Republicans: STOP FREAKING LISTENING TO THE DEMOCRATS!
