There were 300 police cars on the scene at the time of the looting and only 32 arrests.
A lot of shopowners are saying that there was no police protection from the looters who were vandalizing and looting out in the open.

I think that is shameful. Reminds me of the LA riots when the police were holding up the store doors to help the looters in. Okay, not as bad, but what were the police doing, making sure lawful citizens did not try to help protect the goods and property in their neighborhood and present a confrontation.
At least in England, they arrested thousands and jailed many of them.
