What began as a peaceful protest of the shooting of an 18-year-old unarmed black man by a police officer in a St. Louis suburb turned into what the town's mayor called a "huge mess" as several businesses were looted and cars were vandalized.
A candlelight vigil was held Sunday evening in Ferguson, Mo. for Michael Brown, whom witnesses and authorities said was shot several times by an officer who had scuffled with the teen and another person.
Afterward, some people looted a convenience store. Several other stores along a main road near the shooting scene were broken into and looted, including a check-cashing store, a boutique and a small grocery store.
People were seen carrying bags of food and toilet paper. TV footage showed streams of people walking out of a liquor store carrying bottles of alcohol, and in some cases protesters were standing atop police cars or taunting officers who stood stoic, often in riot gear.
(snip)
The officer probably “dissed” him in some way, you know, like looking at him, provoking a justified attack.
Probably not a lot to worry about. Getting out to the suburbs, exurbs or rural areas to stage riots involves quiet coordination and non-threatening travel over distance.
It’s not going to happen. The urban ferals will be seen coming almost immediately and the police (who know full well who pays their salaries and pensions) will move to contain.
There were 300 police cars on the scene at the time of the looting and only 32 arrests.
A lot of shopowners are saying that there was no police protection from the looters who were vandalizing and looting out in the open.
It was just a little whoopass.
Frightening.
McSpadden has hired Benjamin Crump, the attorney who represented family of slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin, to represent her family.
Crump was expected to hold a press conference on the matter Monday morning.
And the Rev Al is coming to town —
From what the news said this morning, the cop was forced back into his car by the “unarmed” thug and that’s when the cop fired the first round. I don’t really care if the kid tried to run after that.
If a vicious dog attacks your child and leaves, no normal person is going to consider the incident done and over.
This was no protest. Hoodrats just look for any reason to f#@k s%#t up.
Liberals don’t want a conversation on race, they want a lecture.
Not only that, there is a tendency for others to join in on the “fun” once it starts.
Trying to piece it together:
The officer told the kid and a friend who were walking in the street to get up on the sidewalk.
The kid pushed the cop back into his car and one shot went off in the car.
35 feet away the kid was shot multiple times.
I wonder what he was planning to do with it? </sarcasm>
Midnight basketball is so passe.
Now it's midnight lootin' and burnin'.

The Rev and Ben Crump are coming to town to stir things up for subsequent civil suit but given that Ferguson is 70% black there may be no money in the till for them, especially now with all the property damage from the looters.
i was gonna say, we had the riots here in 2001 over a running thug.
i think the black elders called it “wilding”, like it was a schoolyard game.
I’m SHOCKED. Shocked, I tell ya!
The rioters and looters are not going into Korean or Vietnamese neighborhoods and business districts. They will shoot to kill and there will be no witnesses.
See my post #57
We should try to understand their anger = The riots are justified
This morning the St Louis County Police Chief said that while walking last night with the Ferguson Police Chief they were shot at from a moving vehicle.
