What began as a peaceful protest of the shooting of an 18-year-old unarmed black man by a police officer in a St. Louis suburb turned into what the town's mayor called a "huge mess" as several businesses were looted and cars were vandalized.
A candlelight vigil was held Sunday evening in Ferguson, Mo. for Michael Brown, whom witnesses and authorities said was shot several times by an officer who had scuffled with the teen and another person.
Afterward, some people looted a convenience store. Several other stores along a main road near the shooting scene were broken into and looted, including a check-cashing store, a boutique and a small grocery store.
People were seen carrying bags of food and toilet paper. TV footage showed streams of people walking out of a liquor store carrying bottles of alcohol, and in some cases protesters were standing atop police cars or taunting officers who stood stoic, often in riot gear.

I know that, whenever one of my homies gets blasted, I head straight for Best Buy.
So all this nonsense about our city's being cesspools of perversion and lawlessness is silly. < /sarcasm>
On a positive note, this does indicate for all that nothing has changed since the Watts riots decades ago. Nobody can claim our unassimilated permanent underclass has made any progress at all in nearly five decades.
I hope there are some belts among the ‘armloads of goods’ these thieves are making off with...
Maybe I’m seeing things or my eyes are tired but the dude with the pistol in his pants appears to NOT have a magazine in it.
Is this just a photo-op?
You know it’s a peaceful protest if there is
candlelight looting.
Well, there is always hope he’ll blow his ____ off and
drop out of the gene pool.
This only encourages the rioters and looters. The policy of don't defend, just contain to an area and the overt attacks on the police without response only encourages more of the same. We need Korean shop owners like in the Watts riots, but they would probably be prosecuted for shooting the homies.
Welcome to the sixties.
What could you expect? Animals will be animals.
Tradition. Gotta love it.
Rioting, looting, etc...It’s the morons’ answer to everything
Maybe Andy only lets him have one bullet ;-)
“.......nothing has changed since the Watts riots decades ago.”..........
Just “Street Rats” doing what they do.
By the way, why the hell was the kid that got shot attacking the police officer IN HIS CAR? “Good kids” don’t go around attacking police in their police cars or anywhere else for that matter. Most definitely these were not “good kids” and it cost one of them.
Any reason to loot.
Unfortunately, it looks like my local Sam’s club on a Saturday afternoon. What is up with Holder’s people? I miss the Amish.
More midnight basketball whatever it takes!
A 70 inch big screen would be soothing to my soul..
