There’s more stuff hidden behind the walls and in nooks and crannies of old houses than many people realize. Some years ago in my hometown of La Crosse, Wisc. they tore down an old house. Inside the walls the wreckers found thousands of dollars worth of old silver dollars which had been fastened to the insides of the walls. I never did find out what happened to the old coins.

Probably a lot don’t, but a few certainly do.

It’s time for the state, like in this case, the state of Florida, to step up, pass a statute that limits the punishment a county can do to a resident/citizen. Yearly limit or lifetime limit, but $500,000 will stress one out to kill them.

This is about legalized theft, nothing more.

Keep in mind those "silver coins" are likely your average nickles, dimes and quarters and half dollars. Just because it's estimated there are over 2000 of them doesn't mean there's a fortune there...........

For example, a 1910 liberty head nickle might have a minimum value of maybe $2.50.......

Howes said she thinks more coins were taken to the dump before the treasure was discovered. "I'm not kidding."

Sure she's not kidding. By "dump" I bet she means the pockets and lunch boxes of the wrecking crew.
