Some of these posts run the gamut from plain coldness right up to gleeful imaginings of Williams in hell. (Thankfully the one guilty of that was locked out of the thread).

No one can call himself a Christian and be delighted, or merely flippant, over a person’s death. In my case, it isn’t only that-—my mother just raised me better.

We can speculate over where Williams is, but that’s all. The man had his last agonies, and it’s very possible he cried out to God for mercy.

After reading your in-depth comments, and seeing some of the flaming that has been going on by those who are into the Bible bigtime, it makes me realize no wonder we who are Christians have become so disliked by American society because of such harsh attitudes.

Any one of us is only one medication adverse reaction from the fate which Robin Williams suffered. The older one gets the more prone they are to depression and adverse medication reactions as well. I'm not saying his meds did it I'm saying sometimes they don't always work & sometimes they can cause a chemical chain reaction from the stomach to the brain as strong as LSD. In that respect I know real well what it can do. I've witnessed it.

Meds aren't a magic wand and humans are imperfect persons living in our under the curse bodies which will face disease, disorders, etc until our hour is up. Our soul is a different matter. Such has been the case since the expulsion from Eden.

Well stated.

My mother tried to starve herself to death(acute depression)
and died young as a result. Anyone who has been close to somebody who suffered from this would know better than to castigate or villify them.

Friend I have no doubt Jesus Christ has the power to heal all. However that is not promised to us all in this carnal world. We live in cursed bodies that will at some point perish. They will face pain and eventually physical death.

GOD time after time in history has used persons afflictions to His purpose and His Glory. One earlier case would be Moses. Scripture shows GOD called upon Moses to lead Israel. Moses was concerned because of his inability to speak or some issue related. Maybe he stuttered maybe a social phobia. GOD appointed Moses brother Aaron to speak for Moses instead of curing Moses. Again Paul was not healed either.

Do you think that the ministry Joni Tada founded for the disabled would have happened had she not be a quadriplegic? GOD's Grace and GOD's power is manifested in her afflictions. Would she have the understanding to know how to reach and minister to someone who was just told by a doctor that they could never walk again? The woman has helped likely millions including my wife deal with severe physical and emotional issues. Joni and her husband Ken wrote a book about a year ago I recommend it to any husband and wife facing illness of a spouse.

I believe in the laying on of hands upon the sick. Been there before and experienced a very life changing message. 29 years ago next month was when it happened. It was in ICU. The best doctors the hospital had told us my wife would not move her legs, arms, or likely hands again. No one knew why. Two ministers she knew came in and laid on hands for healing. What happened next is difficult to describe because it was not of this world. A peace overwhelmed me and a calm I have not know before of since. A presence of another with us in spirit. A message came to me "It's going to be OK".

Now for ones who had been praying for Divine Healing for her it was a welcomed message. Within a week she could feed herself with her hands picking up food one piece at a time. Great now about that walking issue????? Our lives in the next year and a half faced a testing unlike either of us had known. We were boy friend girl friend then. We married in the hospital chapel.

Weeks and months past. Usually the rule of spinal cord issues is six months is the window of recovery 90% of recovery of what you get back returns in that time. He hands came back about 80% as did her arms. Her legs except for reflexive spasms would not move.

So what was the message and why? GOD gave me a message I needed at that time because my life was changing at a rate not many would have likely handled alone and came out OK. A few months before this happened I lost my first wife age 23 to a massive heart attack. I went back to work after a couple of weeks and met a woman a few years older than me I was 28 at the time. We became friends and ate lunch together went to movies with her kids etc. I was with her when she went quad.

Did GOD remove Daniel from the Lions Den? Did GOD remove Daniel's three friends from the furnace? NO. He was with them. In that respect GOD was with me and we {my girl friend and I} made some critical choices after lots of prayer.

GOD has plans for all of us who surrender to His will. His Will His Plan may not be the Rose Colored idea we have. No indeed because we may a tempering of our spirit a molding by The Masters hands into what purpose He has use of us for.

GOD uses persons imperfections, their disabilities, as often as he uses healthy people. My disorder drastically affects my level of concentration at any given moment as far as holding a train of thought. It also affects my abilities to process auditory and optic events. Some noises I can not tolerate at all. Prayer comes easy to some. I can't pray without my mind going elsewhere. Church? Out of the question. I would disrupt it. I barely made it through my dads funeral a couple years ago because I was having seizures set off by the preachers voice over the microphone. Yet I can type this reply somehow. Hum.

We are promised to be given pain free, sin free, new bodies new live filled with joy and nor sorrows after our time in this life here on earth is over. Even though we are here GOD is with us. For Christians Christ sent The Holy Spirit to minister to us. Many die daily for the sake of The Gospel by not denying Christ and yet we are to assume when we are ill we will always be healed? Not in this world although sometimes the answer is yes, sometimes no, sometimes wait. We are citizens so to speak of a land promised to us. This is not that land. We must wait until The Father says our new home is ready.

It's not only promised to us, it is done. Jesus said "It is finished" and scripture clearly tells us that not only includes his taking on all our sins for our forgiveness but also taking on all our diseases for our healing.

His hand of blessing is outstretched, but we must by faith and grace take from him. He will never force anything upon us. You can point to people who evidently haven't been healed and I can point to you people who have. Temporal and changeable circumstance doesn't change the unchanging truth of God's word.

No, I think it’s just the opposite. I think a great number will be saved the first 3 1/2 years.

Was the thief on the cross forgiven? Yes. Was he healed as in taken down alive and going about his way? No. We still on this earth experience the case and effects of it including pain, disease, and even the end results of our choices. BTW Paul asked {Three times wasn't it} to have the thorn in his flesh removed? What was The Lord's answer to him? "My Grace is sufficient for the day" posting it off the top of my head.

Good......picked up a pacemaker in March myself

Kinda hard to work if you can’t get off the floor

Trifscicular heart block....the three pathways of conduction tween atrium and ventricle on me took over half century to fizzle out one by one from right to left

Always knew one day....made it to almost 60...57

Collapsing ...like dropsy with heartbeat in mid 20s is not for sissies.....not like passing out just boom...on the floor no warning

Modern medicine... keeping horny crotchety old farts alive way beyond their shelf date

I believe the following words:

John 3:16-18

16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.

18 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

So my question is: Did Williams 'believe'?

I sure hope he done some good things to be judged upon in the Book of life.

Here are all the references, in the Bible, to the Book of Life:

Exodus 32:32-33
But now, if you will forgive their sin—but if not, please blot me out of your book that you have written.”  But the Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will blot out of my book.

Daniel 12:1
“At that time shall arise Michael, the great prince who has charge of your people. And there shall be a time of trouble, such as never has been since there was a nation till that time. But at that time your people shall be delivered, everyone whose name shall be found written in the book.

Philippians 4:3
And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.

Revelation 3:5
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Revelation 13:8
And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Revelation 17:8
The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.

Revelation 20:11-15
"Then I saw a great White Throne and him who was seated on it. Earth and sky fled from his presence, and there was no place for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and THE BOOKS WERE OPENED. Another book was opened WHICH IS THE BOOK OF LIFE. The dead were judged according to their works as recorded in the books. The sea gave up the dead that were in it, and death and Hades gave up the dead that were in them, and each person was judged according to their works.  Then death and Hades were thrown into the Lake of Fire. The Lake of Fire is the second death. If anyone's name was not found written IN THE BOOK OF LIFE, he was thrown into the lake of fire."

Revelation 21:27
Nothing impure will ever enter it, nor will anyone who does what is shameful or deceitful, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

I would suspect he did an analysis and the negatives outweighed the positives. He believed his whole life had been for naught. He believed that his foolishness was not an act, but his being.

He believed he was basically worthless and killed himself
