Unless she changed her mind since November 2013, Romney won't run.

Peasant you will do as the Party commands! The GOPE and their loyal kool-aid drinkers demand you support the (R) candidate no matter how stupid he or she may be! What they stand for is irrelevant! You will conform! They promise this, that and the other things, but just a little cheaper than real out of the closet liberals. It’s all about the Party do you not understand!

The GOPE, Party Pukes and their consultants are all useless as a one legged man at an ass kicking convention.

It would be madness to run Romney again. He was a horrible candidate and nothing indicates to me that he has gotten any better. But the GOP wants him because he wants the presidency so bad he can taste it - and he will therefore virtually self-fund his own campaign.

If you want to find out what the GOPe is thinking all you have to do is listen to their shills on Salem Radio.

Hugh Hewitt and Michael Medved will be touting the RINO flavor of the month as a “conservative”.

Of course Hewitt and Medved’s idea of a conservative is Karl Rove and Lindsey Graham and others of that sort.

bullsh!t!!

there’s always the tea party. the GOP will force a split with all this refusal to be republicans. the real conservatives will split and form their own party.

i am not a captive slave to the GOP establishment! you would think that they would have learn from shoving romney down our throats the last time.

The GOP establishment would prefer to remain the minority party, so long as they don’t have to deal with conservatism.

There are worse picks than Romney, but, I do not think the electorate will settle for any less than a Ted Cruz or Rand Paul.

Your boy Newtie managed to win two states-- his home state of Georgia and South Carolina. Santorum won states all over the map, including two in Newtie's backyard-- Tennessee and Alabama.

And he was supposed to drop out to clear the field for Newt?

In case you've forgotten, Santorum was the only one of the finalists to take a clear stance against blanket amnesty and special rights for the pink mafia.

You don't understand; the GOP/GOPE are Republicans.
It's all about "brand recognition" rather than actually doing anything — look at the party-planks and how the Republican party has NEVER [since Reagan] been about pushing any of them. Seriously, when was the last time you heard them seriously pushing for repeal of the GCA or NFA? And yet they still bill themselves as supporting the 2nd amendment. What about seriously pushing for actually reforming the tax-code/tax-system? Nope, they push things like tax-breaks, which are essentially gifts from the government without impeding the power of taxation that an actual reform of the tax-system would entail. Abortion? Other than the arguably-useless Partial Birth Abortion Ban, they've done nothing to further their stance on illegalizing abortion — and they don't want to . (Like the NRA, if they actually made progress on the abortion front then they'd lose an emotional hot-button you need to vote for us issue.)

the real conservatives will split and form their own party.

I should hope so — aren't you tired of being used, abused, and lied to?

i am not a captive slave to the GOP establishment! you would think that they would have learn from shoving romney down our throats the last time.

Sadly there are lots who are slaves to the GOP establishment.
Just look at how some are still derided on this site for not voting Romney in `12; it's ridiculous: give me somebody I can vote for, not somebody who isn't as bad as the alternative.

Just remember, in the primaries there will be one or two lesser establishment candidates to take votes away from the popular candidate and insure that their candidate wins. Seen this way too many times.

There is a reason that FR endorsed Newt Gingrich over Romney and the Arlen Specter devotee, Santorum.

The reports I read said he bribed her into letting him run by tearing down their mansion in La Jolla and letting her build a bigger mansion.

No wonder Romney connected so well with the common voter - solving problems just like an average Joe. (/sarcasm)

If we had an informed electorate, the GOPe would be the DEMOCRAT party and today’s Democrat Party would be relegated to the lunatic fringe where they belong.
