Why would anyone in Travis county want a female Hannibal Lecter masked insane drunk DA?
This makes no sense. I don’t understand why anyone is coming to her defense democrat or otherwise.
Are they really defending this awful embarassment to womanhood and justice or is this just an excuse to put down Governer Goodhair?

Both, I think. But then again, these Austin progressives are friggin’ nuts. They live in their bizarro bubble, and they think they will be vindicated.

If DUI is a theoretically possible ground for disbarment, even one rarely applied, it has to be at least as reasonable to apply it as to indit for Perry for constitutional action. Whether or not attempting disbarment is a politically reasonable counter strategem by Perry depends how that process works there. Would it have a chance? Does Travis County or Texas control disbarment? Is it even possible to stay in office as Travis County DA once disbarred? If the threat would be empty then don’t make it.

She should have resigned the next day in disgrace which is what she is.
The Kennedys don't resign.
The Clintons don't resign.
Dems don't resign.

My guess is that she is a strong supporter of same sex marriages (if you get my drift). That is the kind of storm troopers the left wants out the streets.

Hit and run while DUI is a felony. My guess is that the victim went Sargent Shultz when they found out that the perp was the counties big D/A. So the cops had to go with the DUI, which is only a misdemeanor for political elites but a felony for subjects.

drunk driving is a misdemeanor in Texas. Only in some circumstances, any injuries, how many past offences etc.

Travis county has a long history of leftist activism. They got Tom DeLay and are still trying to get his overturned conviction reinstated. It ruined DeLay anyway. They are attempting to do the same with Perry, this was just an opportunity, and a stretch at that.
To: mojito
Ridiculous that the dimwit special prosecutor accuses Perry of threatening Lehmberg, when Lehmberg was threatening every employee at the jail when she was being booked.
Granted, she was so drunk that she tested three times more alcohol than the legal limit...a test-that was administered three hours after her arrest!..but she did threaten those present.
