FERGUSON, Mo. — Unrest returned to the streets of this St. Louis suburb early Saturday as hundreds of demonstrators, angered by the shooting death of an unarmed African-American teenager by a police officer, engaged in a standoff with the police that was punctuated by threats and a new round of denunciations of law enforcement practices.

The confrontation, the first serious one since the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Thursday assumed responsibility for security operations here, ended at about 4 a.m. when the authorities, prompted by the gradual dispersal of demonstrators, pulled back to their nearby command post. The Associated Press reported that one law enforcement official had been injured overnight.

The unrest, coming after a day of relative calm, resumed after the Ferguson police on Friday released the name of the officer who shot 18-year-old Michael Brown as well as surveillance videotape that appeared to show Mr. Brown stealing a box of cigarillos in a convenience store. His family and many protesters complained that the police were trying to divert attention from the central question: why an unarmed young man was shot dead....

Just remember that supposed conservatives like Jeff sessions voted in the contemptible AG and actually went out of his way to praise him.

Senator Jeff Sessions of Alabama, for example, said he was sure that Mr. Holder would be “a responsible legal officer and not a politician.

Did you mean those weird MRAP vehicles? Those are going to be more trouble than they're worth, methinks.

Ha ha love the pics!

Holder the typical liberal, shutting down debate and keep information from people cause it hurts his story.

Liberals = modern day book burners.

The maintenance cost on those those must be astronomical compared to to regular police vehicles.

Holder should have been removed from office long ago when he was cited for contempt.

The store would have been looted either way. You cannot win with these animals (and that is an insult to animals everywhere).

The DOJ has a Civil Disturbance team that they send into situations like this. They invariably make them worse. I know Holder sent them, so I suspect they were involved in the attempt to bury the video.

Better to release the tape that let the IRS have the file and it would suffer a hard drive failure and be lost. No it was right to release so Holder couldn’t destroy evidence.

Obama and holder constantly refuse to obey laws and the constitution.

So if the Ferguson PD refused to do what what Holder told them, then good. its about time somebody gave holder and obama a taste of their own medicine.

Those are the pictures that will be forever associated with him.

His motivation is apparent, as has already been pointed out, and he seems to be happy to stay in the territory of the ridiculous for the rest of his tenure. Not only does the release of the video *not* “divert attention from the central question: why an unarmed young man was shot dead.” It answers that central question.

Make the truth your friend again, Justice Department.

This video is direct evidence. That is why they want to hold off showing it. Rumor has it they are assigning Lois Lerner to “guard” the video while the “investigation” proceeds.

Eric Holder is like a first grade kid trying to get over on the teacher. Just imagine, trying to keep the police from releasing the tape of this kid stealing. He would also like to stifle the fact that the kid went after the cop if he could. Anything to push the idea that this was a racist incident Holder would shoot for. Eric Holder is worse as far as a racist than anyone I have ever met.

**** “and there were never any plans by the federal investigators to release that copy.”****

well, now. I’d like to know why federal investigators NEVER planned to release this video. Doesn’t it show that Dorian Johnson’s version of events, which is being used as a basis to excuse rioting and foster mob demand for “justice” is, after all is said in done, less than credible after admitting this very event occurred about 10 minutes before the officer drove by them - and that maybe there’s more to the story to tell?

http://www.ksdk.com/story/news/local/2014/08/15/attorney-dorian-johnson-michael-brown-robbery/14118769/

contrary to the current talking point, releasing this video didn’t ‘taint’ Brown so much as taint the narrative being pushed on the dumb sheep by the racebaiters, special interests, and Holder’s “justice” department. I can see why Holder is having a hissy fit.

I’m surprised that they are not showing pictures of him when he was 12 like they did with Trayvon.

But they are. The MSM is circulating pictures of benefit posters for "Big Mike" Brown, but rather than use the 18-year-old picture his family is using a much younger picture, probably 12 or younger. Makes him look simply angelic. As of a couple days ago they raised $50,000 and it's probably double that now.
