This is kind of weird and long. Rambling.

As for this:

“But by the looks of it the convenience store operator doesn’t trust either the police, Al Sharpton or Eric Holder.”

I don’t agree with the author. Nothing indicated other than that he is scared of retribution from the mob.

His attitude makes me less inclined to sympathize with him if his store were looted or destroyed.

I also think the author ignores the photo with the rifles. That is America and the 2nd Amendment in play.

“Nobody is just an “American” any more. Anyone who insists on the plain identifier must be a secret bigot. You are a [modifier][-][American].”

Teddy Roosevelt said that the US was not just a hotel of the nations, but had to be a melting pot, making the immigrants into something knew, an American.

Nowadays he’d be called a bigot.

I thought I heard that it WAS looted.

I think I heard that as well, but am not sure.

I think he may have been the one that the cops didn’t protect his store.

Not certain.

I like the pic of the dude holding two riffles. It looks like he is defying the MOFOs to come get some of this. Go ahead punks make my day. I would be willing to bet, he did not get any takers.

Eeeee-bolllll-aaaaaa ping!

Bring Out Your Dead

Post to me or FReep mail to be on/off the Bring Out Your Dead ping list.

The purpose of the “Bring Out Your Dead” ping list (formerly the “Ebola” ping list) is very early warning of emerging pandemics, as such it has a high false positive rate.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.

At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

*sigh* Such is life, and death...

Evidence that Collectivism is the new paradigm. Individualism is on the way out. Altruism has let the Muslim foot in the door.

Yes, he’s afraid of retribution from the mob. That’s the author’s point. He’s afraid because he can’t depend on the police or anyone else in government to protect him from the mob. Even though the mob is operating in full view of everyone...

I would agree. Why bother paying taxes...if the cops won’t protect your place (like the mafia ensured your protection for the fee you paid monthly). Same for the fire department...they probably won’t come out if the store catches on fire. If you go look at Memphis, New Orleans, and Birmingham...they all went this way....business left, tax revenue dried up, and the city infrastructure died out over a two or three decade period.

“...not unless it’s headed by a Sultan or an Emperor.”

Didn’t Mr Fernandez mean “unless it’s a Hitler or a Stalin”?

Ferguson police radio just reported this Chinese Restaurant still on fire after Molotov Cocktail earlier. https://www.google.com/maps/search/bbq+restaurants/@38.737088,-90.27827,3a,90y,68.62h,86.09t/data=!3m4!1e1!3m2!1s7TgzYGhLhTwm68D7yfWmOQ!2e0 Anyone know if business insurance covers “riots/civil disobedience”? I know my homeowners’ policy specifically excluded that type of damage along with “acts of god”!

Sadly, the thing that made America great, the ability of Americans to keep their cultural roots while looking forward as Americans, united for that common Republic, is fading.

We have gone from e pluribus unum to e pluribus pluribus.

Either we get our collective crap together or the survivors will hopefully rediscover the concept that a house divided cannot stand in time to salvage some of the Republic and keep it.

(Yes, survivors--because a balkanized America can count on being invaded, if for nothing but the selfsame resources our government is trying to stop us from using that others will gladly and brutally exploit.)

If the situation degrades into roving gangs, or 'every man for himself', the poison, the cultural disease will ultimately prove as deadly to the looters as the sheets and mattresses of Ebola victims looted from the containment center will prove to the thieves.

… most of the problems in Washington are the result of tryng to combine fragmentation at the bottom with centralism at the top.

Actually most of the problems in Washington and elsewhere come from exploiting diversity at the bottom to further authoritarianism at the top. That is another way of telling the lie: "diversity is our strength."

Actually, diversity is our Achilles heel and it is mortally wounding America.

The left, currently led by Barack Obama and Attorney General Eric holder are willfully undermining the rule of law in America in order to fragment the country. Beyond the rule of law, they are breaking the economic law that open borders are toxic in a welfare state. Once they infill the country with impoverished, unskilled, illiterate, culturally alien, constitutionally ignorant, voters vulnerable to socialist seduction and susceptible to racialism, they can proceed to fragment, exploit, and rule.

They engage in crony governing akin to crony capitalism in which the law is set aside, whether the laws are economic or authorized by the Constitution, to aggrandize their power and fill their purses for themselves and their cronies. Who are there cronies? Those who can be identified as exploiters of "diversity"the ones who proclaim most loudly that "diversity is our strength."

A civil society requires more than democratic elections (although Eric Holder in particular and Democrats in general are doing their best to steal elections), it requires a civil culture. Not content with undermining that culture with cynical immigration policies, this administration and the Democrat Party seek to destroy the culture which nurtures democracy and the rule of law by setting race against race, class against class, religion against religion, and sector against sector. They have enshrined Nathan Bedford's first Maxim of American politics as their operating principle:

All politics in America is not local but ultimately racial.

Race politics is exploited to justify defying the rule of law whether by opening our borders to potential Democrat voters at the cost of our economy and our rule of law or whether it comes to encouraging lawlessness on America's streets in places like Ferguson, Missouri.

In Ferguson we see a white Governor throwing a white police chief under the bus by replacing him with a black chief of state police in order to pander to African-American rioters and looters at the cost of Middle Eastern shopowners.

Where is the strength in all this diversity? There is plenty of race in all of this diversity and plenty of politics but precious little strength.
