Ferguson is not just about systemic racism—it's about class warfare, and how America's poor are held back

You probably have heard of the Kent State shootings: on May 4, 1970, the Ohio National Guard opened fire on student protesters at Kent State University. During those 13 seconds of gunfire, four students were killed and nine were wounded, one of whom was permanently paralyzed. The shock and outcry resulted in a nationwide strike of 4 million students that closed more than 450 campuses. Five days after the shooting, 100,000 protestors gathered in Washington, D.C. And the nation’s youth was energetically mobilized to end the Vietnam War, racism, sexism, and mindless faith in the political establishment.

The looters and rioters in Ferguson are cowards puffing out their chests. They are acting this way because they can get away with it with - at worst - minor injury. And they know if they sustain a minor injury, it’ll be on Youtube 5 minutes later and they’ll be virally famous.

If there were any serious response, the riots would stop in 5 minutes. Of course, no leaders have the balls to provide a serious response because they fear what it would look like on Youtube.

“Ferguson, and other similar riots, are about the Parasite Class trying to destroy the Productive Class ... and the Protective Class failing to do its job.”

It is mind-boggling why shop owners do not stand armed-watch and ready to shoot those who would loot their businesses.

Hmmmm. Seems to me your "correction" is a distinction without much of a difference. As David Horowitz writes in "Deconstructing the Left":

"No sooner was the civil rights revolution written into law than the radical left was agitating to overthrow it. 'Integration' was derided as 'Uncle Tomism' and 'co-optation'; 'Black Power' became the slogan of the radical agenda. Martin Luther King was now a legend of the discarded past; Malcolm X was the prophet of the radical future."

“I’ve considered the media the enemy since 1991.”

It started long before that. When TV became popular in the 50s is when CBS and NBC started espousing their communist views. At the time, ABC was kind of ‘moderate’ but they, too, eventually turned communist.

“ALL the “rioting” has been primarily about looting.”

Exactly and further, the looters could not care less about Michael Brown. They simply want the goodies.

I have had to deal with the VA, and sadly you are correct. These are very well paid VA employees, with fantastic benefits. They are care little for the veterans, and are a PRIME reason the VA is so messed up. NOTHING will be done about these awful employees, because they are obese black women with attitude.

This is what obamacare will bring on a large scale. If older people today think that the youth will take care of them when they are elderly and unable to care for themselves, they are in for a rude awakening.

Exactly. You work your entire life, you put your kids through college, you create jobs for others, you pay taxes to your community, state, and federal government. You pay off your debts. Then you get old and sick, and your children do everything they can to take care of you. If the Federalies get a hold of you, the seize every dime you have. Then you suffer and die under the hands of godless people who care more about stuffing their fat faces than helping an old man covered in bed bugs and insect eggs. Where is 60 minutes. I guess they are cowards, as we all knew.

The shop owners are FOLLOWING THE LAW. What they need to do is sue the city for lack of police protection.

My friend that died from cancer a few years ago went into the Houston VA office and said it was nothing but blacks working there. He said he finally got to talk with some big fat black woman and she told him that there was nothing they could do for him because of the republicans. She wanted to make it all political. If I had been there, I would have slapped the big fat knuckle-dragging pig. This worthless pig never served a day in our military and here she was treating a man that served in our military like he was nothing.

And you’re correct. They are good paying jobs with great benefits. Personally, I don’t believe these big fat quota pigs should be given these jobs if we have unemployed veterans.

Liberals in our government have pretty much destroyed this nation. They finally got their greasy hands on our health care system and will do for it like they have everything else.

“The shop owners are FOLLOWING THE LAW.”

What? Are you saying that shop owners CANNOT stand guard over their businesses and that if they did then they would be breaking the law?

Thanks for relisting the link.

When are these people like Lew, going to understand that liberals and democrats promised they would end poverty in America, as we know it in the 60’s, with the welfare program. All they had to do is trust them and all would be well in the world.

Well, as it turns out, poverty in America is worse today when it should have been long gone with the leftist politicians promises if their utopia worked in the real world. People like Lew need to see the results of the last 50 years and see what was promised, never materialized, just made the situation worse and contributed to the massive debt we have.

The War on Poverty has been a 50 year lie. Wake up Lew!

In a sane world the good people would move out of that area - take their stores and businesses with them - and leave the place to the looters.

But before they do that shop owners should sue the city. They’ve been paying for police protection for years - and when they finally needed the police - the police were protecting looters.

Time to sue.

These issues need to be separated. Thugs in the street rioting and looting over a thug being shot by a police officer defending his life is not going to escalate into a civil war of rich vs poor.

However there is 90,000,000+ people in this country without jobs and a rapidly shrinking middle class. The country is bankrupt and that anger will spill into the streets across the U.S. if the economy is not returned to where most people in this country can work.

It is always about the economy and the economy is in shambles. All these other issues are to distract people away from what Obama and his administration has done to this nation economically and the congress is not blameless either.

How many illegal immigrants now... in a year....in 2016?

Unemployment and inflation are killers on a national level.

I agree. The country is in a shambles.

Our economy will most likely NEVER recover, and we cannot support the 90 million takers indefinitely.

There are takers who earned it (less than one percent military, those who worked and paid taxes their entire lives, etc), and taker who did nothing but spread their legs and smoke pot.

Unfortunately, we have more of the latter than the former.

The economic front, like all things, reflects our relationship with God. And nationally, that is not good. In fact, that relationship is broken beyond belief.

The American people are reaping what their harvest.

"Do not be deceived: God is not mocked, for whatever one sows, that will he also reap."

Galatians 6:7

Not buying it, yes there are too many freeloaders but not 90,000,000+. Are there 90,000,000+ jobs available for them all to work? No. Our high unemployment is a result of all the jobs lost to China and other nations that employ the people manufacturing the products we buy. A company advertises a job or jobs here and thousands apply for every opening. It does not take a genius to see we need to fix our own mess.
