Seems to me they’ve finally overreached here.

But it’s never wise to underestimate the power of MSM to spin outrageous progressive conduct.

BTW, doesn’t Texas have anything similar to a special prosecutor to investigate such outrageous conduct in a nonpartisan way? If it were up to me, I’d have the whole thing investigated and exposed to the light of public scrutiny, including actions by both the DA and the Gov.

Yes, it is called the Public Integrity Unit; it is led by the Travis County DA. (Travis County is the county in which the state capital Austin is located.) So the unit in charge of investigating criminal or unethical behavior by state officials is run by this corrupt DA. That is why Perry vetoed the funding for the unit. The former DA of Travis County -- Ronnie Earle -- is the asshat who filed trumped up BS charges against Congressman Tom Delay and Senator Kay Bailey Hutchinson. In Delay's case, EVEN THOUGH it was later thrown out and he was completely exonerated, he was forced by GOP House Rules to step down from his leadership positions. It seemed impossible to even imagine anothre DA in that position more corrupt and despicable and reprehensible than Ronnie Earle, but the democrats managed to accomplish that in short order with this piece of work. It is definitely time to take the PIU completely out of the hands of the Travis County political slime machine.

As VRWCmember noted, it’s the Travis County DA that has that authority, presumably because that’s the jurisdiction that includes the state capitol.

Here’s hoping that this escapade backfires on the ‘rats not only in that the attack on Perry fails, but also in that it generates enough outrage to strip this dangerous power out of the hands of partisan hacks in Austin.
