Did he really say “status” or is it a typo?
Meanwhile, in Selma a 6th grade teacher had her class, ACT out the shooting of Michael Brown.
Destruction of an endangered creature, eeeeevil!
Absolutely, any cop arresting a person for writing a story for a class assignment is beyond help.
I had family members in law enforcement over the years and all without exception would have laughed in her face.
That's what we did with Little Thinking and today she's brilliant, hilarious, and has an excellent nose for irony. Best decision we ever made.
He will be promptly suspended for using a word that has the word 'gun' concealed in it.
It’s only OK if he wants to kill crackuh babies with a poptart gun. Then you get Holder to protect you.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
It is our tax dollars that are paying for this. Just like the girl who was suspended for saying “bless you”. And the children assigned to reenact the Ferguson shooting.
Why are 16 year olds writing fictional stories? They should be engaging in primarily expository writing. Expository writing is what they need to succeed in college and on the job; no one wants or needs a fictional story on the job. The need the emphasis on factual writing and clear speaking is evident in this student’s speech patterns.
Furthermore, what kind of storm trooper mentality would lead an officer to make this arrest? There is no way, no how I would EVER do anything like this. Clearly the officer is a product of a public, correction, government school.
Speaking of pettiness; I was stopped by a police officer for not wearing my seat belt between the pay window and the pick up window at McD’s. The officer asked if I had anything to say (Why officers always ask if I have anything to say is beyond me). I asked if this is what he envisioned himself doing when he went to the police academy. He stood silent for a minute or two and then told me to wear my belt always and left.
This sounds more like something that would be assigned in grade school. Aside from the overreaction on the part of the staff, are we trying to produce a class of perpetually coddled children?
HOW THE HELL DOES THIS CONSTITUTE DISORDERLEY CONDUCT???
Sorry...
Parents, take your kid out of that school PRONTO!
I’d sue everyone who was involved into a new stone age.

Why would a police offer monitor seat belt usage on private property? It makes no sense.
.
Seriously, you've got to be kidding. No parent is going to call the cops on their homeschool student for writing a story involving a gun. Homeschoolers tend to own a lot of guns, and they aren't skeered of them like publik screwl teachers and administrators.
I think you're way off base here.
