States like Colorado care more for the tax revenue generated from this than they do the health and well being of the people.

Colorado citizens petitioned legalization onto the ballot. The People legalized it, not the legislature.

True.

However:

What action was taken by the legislators in support of the Proposition? I think you will find that many favored it, and tax revenue was one major reason.

The legislators, in general, reflect the thinking of the people who elected them. In this case, that is not good.

Propositions often reflect a 'hands off' approach by the legislators so as to avoid making tough decisions. This reflects a failure of the legislators as much as a desire of the voters to either get high, or not care of people do.

Medicinal marijuana is BS, it is an excuse, not a reason.

Just for the record: I favor full legalization of pot. If I want to grow pot in my backyard and smoke it, alone or with friends, it is none of the governments bu$ine$$.
